At least he has done the right the thing by you Joe and refunded you some of your money. Although selling a 'fake' Enzo key was not the right thing to do in the 1st place, unless it was CLEARY advertised that they were not real. :) What is a "reasonable" price for this fake key? :) I was also going to buy one and I am glad I did not now. Now that everyone knows they are not real Enzo keys, I wonder if he will change his listing on Ebay and sell them for less. I should buy one now and haggle him for the price. ;);)

So he gets caught selling fakes and THEN makes offers to rectify?

In my opinion that's not a "stand up guy", it's a cornered scam artist.

This key is apparently "legit". :)

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290095756101&rd=1&rd=1

    This key is "fakey". :)

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OEM-Ferrari-ENZO-STYLE-KEY-UNCUT-360-355-550-575-456_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ40016QQhashZitem290094512546QQitemZ290094512546QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Should I waste my time and buy the "legit" Enzo key, or do you boys reckon it may still be a fake knowing this schyster? :(:( I really want an Enzo key to keep forever. It will be as close to owning an Enzo as I will ever get. I will also get one from Ferraristore pre-cut to use in my 348. :)

I look forward to hearing what you find.

It seem odd that Jimmy is the only person in the world that can get these uncut keys, sell them for the same price as his resprayed keys.....

I wonder if it is possible for hologram labels to be made in China?

Let me say it differently then. Regardless of the product, a person either feels good or bad about a purchase based on whether the price he/she pays for something matches his/her demand or liking for it. Whether it is an Enzo key or an Enzo style key, I feel that the price I paid for the Enzo style key AFTER the refund Jimmy gave me matches the product.

Jimmy could've said that the auction referenced an Enzo STYLE key, tough luck, sue me. Instead, he played this like a gentleman and asked how to make me whole. I explained what I wanted out of the deal and he agreed and fixed the situation in hours.

A stand up guy could be characterized as a guy who makes up for his previous mistakes.

So, I will say Jimmy is a stand up guy for doing what he needed to do to "right" a "wrong" situation.

exactly, he knew what he was doing in the first place, its not like he received fake keys and did not know when selling, pretty obvious the intent here by painting uncut silver 612 keys red. With all the lawyers and "people in high places" here on Fchat, I would not want to be in Jimmy's shoes right now...

I am all about forgive and forget, really I am, however, I personally emailed him before the purchase and specifically asked if I was getting a "real" Enzo key and he replied assuring me they were the real deal. I have already emailed him and we are taking care of the situation. Point is, and I know I am beating a dead horse, he lied to me and defrauded me as well.

I purchased one from him off ebay before the price went sky high, I paid through PayPal and then he emails me back when prices go higher a day laterafter the auction was over and he had been paid, stating that he does not have a key any longer. He refunds my payment.
A day later, he has the same auction up, but his time for twice the amount I had agreed to pay. Real honarable guy.

Did Jimmy leave you a note regarding to post feedback about his keys on F-chat?

As I posted earlier, I bought 2 keys from Jimmy. The first one with rectangular Ferrari logo, I had it cut for my 355 spidy.

Jimmy540's key is pricy, I think it's worth the price and they are authentic.

Here's a picture of the second key I bought from Jimmy540i lastweek, it's exactly the same as the pre-cut one I returned to Wynn's Ferrari Store except Jimmy's key is blank, you guys can see for yourself.

I think there could be a bit of a conflict of interest here. not sure if your commentary was solicited or unsolicited... anyway, does he charge his friends the same amount he's charging on ebay?

I emailed jimmy today for my refund of some money and he tell me this:

    Hi There:

How are you doing? These keys are not fake, they are rectangular Ferrari Emblem Style Keys vs. the Shield ones. The cost of these Rectangular Ferrari Logo F430 Keys are acutally more then the Shield Logo Enzo Keys.

May I ask if you have already cut the keys I've send you?

    Regards,
    Jimmy540i

sounds like he doesnt want to refund my money at all.

    red430,

the only difference in the cost basis for the two should be the paint job on the rectangular logo key. maybe if it was painted at an authorized ferrari repair shop w/ rosso corsa, it might be a big difference...

I'll put this out here. I received a cut Enzo key that is authentic. I was actually going to change out the key portion as Greg Calo and Mondi32 did. If someone wants to exchange it for a rectangular badge key (cut or uncut as long as I can put a 3x8 or F40 key blade in it) I would be willing to discuss a trade.

Just putting it out there in case it helps anyone. I need to know in the next 48 hours though because one of these nights I am going to mod the Enzo key blade so that I can use it in one of my cars.

    Arnaget,
maybee it was painted at a ferrari shop but that make no difference. I have a pint of original ferrari red paint which I purchased and I could easily have done the same thing. What Jimmy did was wrong and it is fraud. He has sent me another email, so hopefully he is willing to give me a portion of my money back. Anybody can buy that same silver key from ferrari store and have it painted red for alot less that $450.00 total, but nobody wants a painted key. I wouldnt be suprised if Jimmys keys start t have the red paint chip away in the future.

Wait - the rectangular key is PAINTED???? I didn't pick up on that. That really stinks. I thought that it was red plastic just like the shield key.

Never mind. I just read your first posts in this thread. I see where you said that it is painted. A shame, too, as I think that the silver 612 keys are cool, too.

    Off Topic,

My wife got me a key (uncut) at Christmas from the Wynn store in Viva,

She asked for the 612 key, it looks to be a 360 key (silver). And the key on one side seems to be convex a bit.
I will post pics tonite when I get home

It is uncut and they said they had more. Just in case anyone wants one.

    Red,
I agree with you in that it was misleading on his part, and believe me, I would be very upset if I had purchased one under that guise; the post I had earlier made had a bit of sarcasm in it.
