As a graduation present, my parents and uncles (and aunts) bought me a Breitling! I graduate in May, but trying to get one around the time I'd be graduating would have been difficult.

I needed, and really wanted, a nice professional watch. Something not too dressy, but not too casual.

Anyway, it was between a few Omega Speedmasters and the Breitling Superoceans. I ended up choosing the Chrono Superocean with a black dial. I absolutely love this watch.

Here's a few pics. I smile everytime I look down at my wrist. This post isn't trying to flaunt or anything. Just wanted to share my excitement and like for watches.

Thanks guys! I had to go back and forth between two stores because they both didn't carry the other brand. What a pain!

How do you find the end of the watch where your wrist is (the buttons that stick out) ? I look at those and the Rolex Sub and they look big. Is it easy to wear?
Looks great !! Congrats !! Just want to know your thoughts as a daily watch.

It is VERY easy to wear. I have am a very tall, lean guy. I have very long arms and large hands. The case is around 41mm in diameter. I have a small wrists, but the watch fits wonderfully on it. I wear it daily and it's great. If anything, the thickness is what you need to get use to. It's 13 or 14mm thick. It's quite monsterous. However, it's not overly large where it looks rediculous on your wrist. Instead, it looks like a good, heavy man watch.

The stop watch start/stop and reset buttons (and winder) don't get in the way. Then again, it can if you put your hand at a 90 degree angle to your arm, flat on a table. I can see that some people might not like this because it may dig into the top of your hand. However, I've worn other smaller watches that do the same thing.

I'll be wearing this daily (or almost daily) for the rest of my life.

Nice watch Travis - well done.

I have had my eye on a Chrono Avenger or Chrono Avenger M1, however, with the steel bracelet, your Superocean looks almost identical. You happen to know the differences off the top of your head? Thanks.

Chrono Avenger - Titanium case, 300 meter depth, only date, automatic, 44mm x 17.60mm
    Chrono Avenger M1 - Titanium, 1000 meter depth, only date, quartz, 44mm x 17.20mm

    Chrono Superocean - Stainless Steel case, 500 meter depth, day-date, automatic, 42mm x 15mm

Hope that helps. I got a free Breitling 192 page catalogue from Tourneau Watch Store when I visited them. It has every watch in every configuration listed. I bought my Breitling from a different authorized dealer.

    Thanks everyone!

Thats what i was thinking. Hands are almost never at 90 degrees so it should be fine. Looks great !! And yes, it is a watch you should wear for the rest of your life. You only go around once.
    Enjoy my friend !

I know what you mean. Adding diamonds to the hours adds around $4,000. Add diamonds on the bezel (no hour diamonds) and it adds about $7,000, IIRC.
