OK. Thats what I thought originaly, I'll keep it here unless the mods get all pro-active and move it. Kit is due to arrive tomorrow, I'm out of town until Fri and I probably won't even look at it until after Willow Springs track days sat-sun (lots of track prep to do etc.)
10-4. Kit arrived at my office today. Still out of town hav'nt seen it. Off to the track PM tomorrow. I'll check it out Sunday night. Thanks Carl.
Hi Guys, I'm a bit slow commenting on the manual for some reason. The manual is really nicely done. The first half of it is down-loadable off the 928 Motorsports website, so you can see for yourself. It's about 2/3rds labeled pictures, 1/3 written instructions. Everything is described very specifically along with photos so you can get it right the first time. The manual will become very useful when I take things apart to switch my belts from the 2-belt to later 3-belt setup. The alternator belt is slipping on me after a short time since it's overloaded past the stock accessories. The 3-belt setup uses a larger 13mm belt for the alternator and splits the water pump off onto it's own 9mm belt. We still have a lot of snow here so I haven't had the car out much, but in a couple of weeks, Watch Out! Thor
Hey all,(bump) I received the supercharger kit (looks VERY nice!) but been super busy with business. Hope to get on it this weekend. THANKS CARL!
Lou, Don't be a tease man. Pictures!! Show us the Supercharger! Maybe one picture of the box. Then 2nd of the SC. And third of you passed out on the floor from the excitement.

These HP numbers and dyno readings are impressive, but you guys need to post some before and after 1/4 mile track times.
FYI, I have begun the supercharger install. Removed everything per the install manual and test fit the supercharger system. The new cold air intake is designed and mocked up and should be off to Carl tommorrow with the harmonic damper for machine work. So, thats the good news. The bad news is that there are a few other differences with the 308 QV as compared to the Mondial s/c kit. Nothing that can't be overcome, but it's gonna be more than just the cold air intake and the cooling system re-route, we have some bracketing issues (QV heads and intake are totally different), engine bonnet clearence (I guess the Mondial has A LOT more clearence above the intake area), and I believe the cam belt cover offset must be different on the QV (I already have this fix worked out). I will post pictures later tonight (from home). I'm doing timing belts and cam seals while i'm in there, and sending the brake booster/master cylinder off to be rebuilt while the car is down (gotta be able to stop the future 375hp QV !!!) I'm getting excited now. -Luigi
Alright Lou!! Now we are going to have some fun. Just hope all those "little aggrevations" are minor. Chris
We're rootin' for ya Lou! Snap a photo of the cold air intake before you install it. Curious to see what it will look like. Let us know how it goes! -m
Built up with pvc pipe fittings per Carl, to get the bends and twists worked out. The K&N sits right behind the scoop and fits in nicely with the inner well reinstalled. I think I may want to do a screen @ the scoop a la the German 308's Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is really exciting. Great work! A couple of things to think about I had to work with on our side scoop modification is weather proofing. While not so much an issue if you do not drive in the rain, may want to consider some weather protection to prevent water soaking in a downpour or other precipitation. Maybe I missed this, but you perhaps can take the PVC pipe to a good truck muffler shop and have a single metal pipe made copying the shape. Good luck - we are all cheering you on!
So, here are the "little aggrevations". Engine bonnet clearance is the biggy (belt tracking adjuster, main SC mounting plate), and the SC mounting plate interfers (just barely) with the upper engine compartment frame rail. Pulley faces are right up on the inner well insulation (I have a Swiss Euro car, this won't be a problem on U.S. and other euro's as my car has 1" thick foam sound insulation unique to Swiss spec). Bracket for the WUR is going to have to be redsigned for the QV as the intake and head castings are far different from the 2V Mondial. Bolts and spacers for the SC bracket mount are going to have to be adjusted to mate correctly and have to pulley's line up perfectly (not a big deal, done). ( Other than that, Mrs Kennedy, how was your visit to Dallas ? ) Actually, I'm sure I could work all this out with a little effort and ingenuity on my end, but I want to be sure Carl has a solid repeatable kit design to offer to others. Exactly the plan. The pvc is a mock-up that Carl will use on his end to mandrel bend 3" steel tube, which will the be powder coated "Rosso Corsa".
Hey Lou, I'm sure you have already thought of this but are you going to put a black grate screen inside of the air scoop to hide and protect the air filter? You could design one that fits much like the 360's and 430's have on the inside of their intake scoops. You have to cruise me in the ride when it is complete. i want to know what some real horse power would feel like in a 3x8. My 328 is next!!!!! Lee
Lou, On the mounting plate, wont the 308 2v have the same issue with Engine bonnet clearence too. The Mondial has a different Engine bonnet. I don't know the difference betwen both. You think Carl checked it out yet? I'm rooting for you buddy. Image Unavailable, Please Login
