Would you go skydiving???

Go for it mate.
I have a friend that did a tandem jump (was his 1st jump and thats what you have to do here 1st), now...............he has done over 1000 jumps. He is addicted to skydiving crazily enough. He admitted to it. Cant get enough of it. All within 2 years. LOVES it! Keeps trying to get me to do it. I will do it with him one day, so I can say that I have done it. His brother had a go and once was enough for him. So I reckon I would be the same, but all in good fun. Have a go, you may become addicted to it also?

 

Being that this is probably your first time, you would have a static line jump. That is where your pull cord is attached to the plane and all you need to do is jump. The chute is pulled for you and works even in case you faint (for women) pass out (for men).

The chances of falling to your death is not high as a reserve chute will deploy automatically if the main does not work right. However, you would need to release the main chute before the reserve is deployed.

Okay, big question - is this girlfriend a regular jumper? How serious are you with her? After you jump, what then??

Most injuries occur upon landing. Broken leg, twisted joint(s), etc... Not life taking, but still a pain in the a$$. Chances are you will be fine.

 

Do it!! Best thing I've ever done in my life was sky diving. It's an experience you'll never forget. I can't explain how great it is, you just have to stop being a chicken **** and go do it.

BTW, ditch that girl. If she's whore enough to be swapping fluids with you outside her boyfriends house, then she'll do the same to you. Girls like that really piss me off.

 

Have done it once. I was so scared I thought I was going to die. I only had the relief after I got on the ground. I thought it wasn't that bad. I want to go do it again.

 

DO IT!!!! I have dont it twice and enjoyed it more the second time around.

 

Think I'll do it for my next birthday.

 

I did it in 1973 (4 jumps). Much more primitive equipment then. The scariest experience of my life but it was also super fun. I hurt my knees on a hard landing, couldn't do it anymore.

The top interior guy in this area is an avid jumper.

 

Haven't done it yet, but I want to I saw go for it, and ditch the hoe.

 

Jumping out of a plane, and falling towards the earth at around 120 mph. Pull a cord that has a gauge that is no wider than a coat hanger that deploys what is basically a bed sheet. And that is supposed to stop your ankles from shooting through your skull? ****, sounds like fun.

 

Years ago I was a bit more into those types of sports. I was doing some hang gliding and some guys were talking up skydiving. I got sent a mag. subscription and one thing has suck with me all these years............ the second page was a list of the divers that got killed that month. So every month I was seeing this and these could be guys with 1000+ jumps. That's when I decided it wasn't for me.

You know in Vegas they have an indoor sky dive setup where they have a big fan that blows air from below and lifts you 10+ ft. in a padded room.

At least they used to have this... not sure any more.

 

Why the hell would I jump out of a perfectly good plane for????

You would most likely do a tandem jump if it's your first time. All that other stuff is if you're prepping to get your certification. With a tandem, the instructor does pretty much all the work, you just enjoy it and try not to knock him or her unconscious.

I'm 23 and I've done two tandem jumps so far...looking to do a third when the weather warms up this year. It's probably the coolest thing I've ever done--and I'd do it all the time if I had the money. I would never, ever consider myself one of those thrill junkies, but I see this as more of "awesome fun" than "scary death risk."

They take lots of precautions to try and avoid an incident...however you wouldn't want to be one of the 20-35 people each year that collide with terra firma at about 120 mph. There are far fewer people who die each year from skydiving than die from bee stings, accidental needle sticks, lightning, recreational boating etc, etc.

Bottom line, if you think that it will advance your 'fun factor' with this girl and it dosen't freak you out too much, do it.
