Clive i've found your next project car http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FERRARI-MONDIAL-3-2-QUATTROVALVE-SALVAGE_W0QQitemZ270103650406QQcategoryZ10380QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Yes that would be perfect to rebody & supercharge and help to continue my dominance of the Mondial market (that would make 82, 83, 84 & 85), just a little bit of a cash flow problem right now...
I designed it to make use of the available space, in other words I couldn't make it any wider and still use the handbrake. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=135657132&postcount=206
Clive, she's coming along nicely... I look forward to your next update... I hope all is well and I hope explosions in the ocean aren't keep you too busy...
Just ordered about 300 sqft of magnolia Connolly Autolux hide (6 skins). Stuck in Saigon at present with a collision that ended the lives of 8 Vietnamese seafarers. Could be here a while...
Whoa! Makes my recent order of two skins look small in comparison and I thought I was breaking the bank there already. Keep up the good work!
The body is away to have all the outer panels stripped off and any remedial/restoration done to the chassis before fitting the new body shell and bonding in place.
Clive, I truly believe that your rendition of the Mondial coupe will be a body designers benchmark for decades to come. Your work is stunning. Be safe & cheers, Hank
New LED tail lights. The prototype lamps. The centre light separation tube is still to be fitted, however, barring a few tweeks, this is basically the end unit. You can just see the two horizontal strobe lamps that are the "second level" hazard warning lamps. This is incredible! I just got turned on to this thread by a fellow fchatter, and I'm AMAZED. I looked at and read quite a bit of the 21 pages. Excellent work! I can't wait to see the end result! I always wanted to go into car design, and decided against it because of a lack of job market (only about 200 people worldwide supposedly are considered automobile designers). I thought about creating a one-off supercar for myself in the future, but after seeing the work involved I must say I've reconsidered!!! Incredible that you've done the majority of this all on your own.
You've mentioned a 'power boost' also. Are you keeping the same engine/trany? Using something like Scott's custom Super Charger, or dropping in something a bit more exotic [599 with F1 ] would be interested in that train of thought. Seems with the current engine cover cosmetics, you will stick with transverse engine...so, I suspect a SC.
Clive is shipping his motor over and I'll be going thru it and putting on a SC. I think he's also toying with dropping in a 360 lump with the extra room he's got there are LOTS of options. cats not completely out of the bag as the SC system will be very different from what I've already got out there stay tuned!
what are the import rules regarding such? Do you just ship the item, fit the SC, tune it, then ship back? does that keep the feds satisified? Not like they should care, but just wondering.
The 360 engine with F1 transmission is planned for the 3-seater as that car will have a whole range of different design ideas in it. Trouble is that the sheep's clothing looks like a wolf.
