Sorry pal, but scroll down to post #61. Richard was looking for a confirmation from you and didn't get it.

Like any FChatter you have a responsibility to check in here once in a while if you want to participate in an event. Too often we have events where everybody says in the beginning "count me in" and when the event happens nobody shoes. Particularly an event like this where we have to guarantee the track a certain number of people, we can't take chances with people.

If for no other reason, come for the camaraderie.

There's a restaurant and bar for a get-together after the races.

Also, there's a chance some won't show and you'll be able to race. It's fun to be a spectator too!

I had sent a PM on 3/17, I got no response so I thought you were not intersted. My fault. I appologize. It's not like a drive where whoever shows is fine. If we commit to CIR for 19 then someone has to pay for 19 participants.

The final #'s went in yesterday. There is always the chance as Andreas said that others that had confirmed will not show. We start promptly at 3pm. If there are no shows it will be on who is there at that time.

Is the Emp going to grace us with his presence? :)

While we are getting ready we are radar watching. Maybe the little monster can come out to play if it looks clear...dont want it to melt in the rain. ;)

Many thanks to Richard for organizing this event. Sorry that your drive wasn't rewarded, but I guess "that's racing".

CIR threw us a curve ball running the track counter clockwise, which really changes the challenges and the line. It definitely led to lots of spins in the first hairpin curve and some less cavalier tactics by some. And as every year racing at CIR is a bit like F1 in Monaco: There isn't a single driver who doesn't have a complain about another driver. Except for the winner. :)

Anyhow, here a few pictures. Nothing great, but luckily we had a few more other photographers who did a better job.

Congrats to Wojciech for 1st prize overall!

Thanks Frank. And just for the record: This was actually already the 4th time. So I guess for our "5 year anniversary" we need to think of something special...full track anybody?

Looks great as always. I'll have to get back involved in the future--I've been busy racing around after an 11-month old:) New helmet, Andreas?

Looking forward to have you back.

Good eye, yes: I want to do the FCA Nationals event at Watkins Glen this year and for that I needed a helmet with an up to date Snell rating. My Irvine and Schumacher helmets are cute, but they wouldn't pass tech inspection anymore.

Just an FYI. Article in Crain's states CIR is close to a deal on a second facility in Addison at 355 and Army Trail Road. Maybe easier to do a full track event!

Wow, that's great news for several reasons: I'm happy to see they're doing well and to have another location within Chicagoland is definitely a plus.

In Europe indoor go karts (and some outdoor in the summer) is the big craze. A city like Chicago given European standards would have multiple go kart tracks. Hopefully we're now on the upswing of the wave.
