Doubt it. He knows it's a nice expensive car, but he probably has no idea that there were only 400 made and how much value the car will lose down the line even after it's repaired. Just look at the guys looking to buy F40's right now, nobody wants one that isn't completely original....
I think there's going to be more than that knowing there's already about 4 or 5 threads on this. Let's just wait and see! How many Enzo's are left?
Looks fixable. He opened the doors and stepped out. Still heart wrenching to see though. It's certainly not going to be a "no stories" car with this sort of documentation.
At least this one was documented on video so the next potential owner can see everything that happened. He sure was acting pretty cool and collected for just crashing that car- almost cocky...
I think that video was hilarious.. nobody got hurt and they can probably rebuild it. In fact, that was probably one of the more informative crash videos I've seen as it's pretty apparent the car has some impressive structural qualities built into it. Now if he was doing this on the street it would be a different story... in the end it's just a car.
i'd be willing to bet this chassis is reparable, and not a total write off... and even if it is, somebody is bound to do it... it will become an Enzo with a poor history, surely.
Wow, going too hot into a corner, good thing he wasn't hurt. Makes me think that was a bad autocross / Gymkhana setup. Seems it was way too close to the wall. Anyway his ego is bruised & going to have a hard time living this down, the car can be shipped back & repaired properly, & the movie will bank a bit off this incident to promote the film.
From what I understand, the maker of that movie crashed a Carrera GT just to make the movie... Its ok because he has a spare CGT. I saw them at the LA Auto Show. Im sure he has enough $$$ to go buy another Enzo... but still WoW That was painful to watch
Car owned by the movie's director/creator, full film crew present, movie's star driving, low speed crash (with no brakes)...guys I wouldn't be surprised if this was staged for publicity for the movie, look how many people are talking about it already. I bet this little "mishap" does wonders for the box office gross of the movie, enough to buy more than a few Enzos.
+1 That video will be all over the news, entertainment shows, as well as talked about and reposted for weeks on all the car boards... You can't buy that kind of pub!
shock awe a) looks like he braked then was blipping the throttle to try to power drift, but didn't use enough gas once he broke loose to bring the tail out, then he got scared b) amazing rigidity of the car to bounce vertically like that off an impact This is up there with the F50 sliding off the course and dropping 3-5 feet onto the ground (and didn't that guy bounce someone off the car too?).
