What albums have you bought, then sold or traded or gave away, then paid up a second time? I finally knuckled under and re-bought Oasis and Tori Amos. I think I overplayed them when they were new, got burned out, traded them, then much later heard them on the radio and decided I was an idiot for selling them the first time. (I'm an '80s guy and like a few '90s bands.) (Actually, I'm a '50s guy, but I wasn't born then.) (Actually I'm musically schizophrenic.)
I don't buy too many CDs, let alone re-buy. However, I did purchase a LP of Dark Side despite not having a record player...
The Spirit of Radio - Rush First copy got a little scratched up and I hadn't got around to backing it up so I bought another, not a bad song on it.
Only because I couldn't find it any longer, Enigma's MCMXC A.D. In fact I was listening to it before I hit F-Chat. Don't think I'd heard it in its entirety since 1997 or so. Still a great (and haunting) album after 17 years. RMX
Yep! Actually, so far, I thought of 2 I have repurchased: Zuccero - Miserere Joe Cocker - Live I need to find another copy of Dave Grusin "The Orchestral Album" in a bad way!
I have two of "The Secret" movie. I already bought one and then my aunt gave me another one as a birthday gift last Friday. Oh well, its a great documentary.
Why?????? Only duplicate I had was The best of Earth, Wind, & Fire vol. 1. Couldn't find the disk so I brought another copy. Several years later found the first copy in my old carryon luggage. Oh well. Of course, there was the many LP->CD upgrading that I did...... Still like that line in the movie MIB about having to upgrade again. Lot of truth in that.
I've bought Dark Side of the moon 3 times, and once in Vinyl. People keep stealing it. I think that's why the record sales for that album are so high, people steal it, or get high and loose it. I'll bet 10,000,000 have bought it 3 times each..
bought Dire Straights, Brothers in Arms on vinyl through a record club and found out it didn't have the 'long' version of Why Worry so I had to buy the cd..... and a cd player!
If I can find it in stores, I'll have to buy the "FourPlay" name CD again. The movers packed the CD player with the CD in it, and it got mangled. I had a digital copy backed up on DDS tape, but I haven't found those tapes since the move, either. I suppose I'll have to migrate to the "online buying" world. Local stores have lousy selection.

Not exactly on topic, but somehow, I've got two copies of Diana Krall's "From This Moment On" (her most recent). Anybody want one?
Gave away and rebought George Harrison's Cloud Nine...that's the only music CD I can remember rebuying. I replaced many of my vinyl LP's of the 60's-70's era with CD's. At one point I had no interest in the LP's and gave them all away. I've bought several "Director's Cuts" or special editions of movies I already owned.
Only two CDs I remember trading in College for beer money that I re-bought: Agent Orange "Living in Darkness" Bob Marley "Legend" Anyone ever buy CDs just to keep their MP3 collection quasi-legal?
good thread... the white album pretty hate machine nevermind abby road (one of the greatest albums of all time...i would buy it 10 times) others...to be named later
Lessee...riding in the car is tough on mine, they end up looking 'danced on'! Jesse Dayton's Road Kings: Live at the Satellite Lounge Return of the Grevious Angel Tribute to Graham Parsons: Emmy Lou Harris Steve Forbert: Here's Your Pizza! Live at some Tiki Hut bar in Florida I'm also missing one of the four platters out of my Los Lobos Box set, I think it's the early one.....ouch! Now I routinely get several signed of Texas artists to give as gifts: Kelly Willis, just about all of them Alan Haynes: Live at the Big Easy
I bought the latest CD from my musician buddy Mike Watt about a year ago, and then forgot I had it and bought it again about 6 months ago........ Letssee.... 'FM' soundtrack I bought, it disappeared, I bought it again.... Same with Kraftwerk 'Autobahn' CD - but the CD was mastered so badly I took it back and got a different one...
Pink Floyd - The Wall Led Zeppelin - Boxed Set Leo Kottke - Essential (The best guitarist you've probably never heard) The Doors - The Best Of
I heard the SACD but on a stereo system and it sounded absolutely amazing. I gotta listen to it in Surround.
