Saw the preview on FOX news at 10pm. Should be on within the next 10 mins....ok just saw it, they had a vid of the car going through the cones, then the next scene into the barrier. Even showed it in slow motion, looks like the camera man, switched off for about a second to miss the first part of the impact...Griffin claims the steering wheel locked up..probably bout 40mph.

    That sounds strangely familiar...

At Petit Le Mans last year there was a huge wreck on the first lap and a fellow photographer of mine nearly had his head taken off by some body work. I know another photographer that has dodged a flipping Subaru WRC car.

completely agree, its on every single news channel, all over the internet. The camera man remained completely still when it happened. Eddie didn't seem the least bit perplexed and i refuse to believe anyone is that bad at driving.

I guess they were saving some money during production and he didn't get to go to race school. Heck even Paul walkers love interest in the first F&F got vehicle instruction and she didn't even have a drivers license.

They claimed they could fix the Stefan Erickson/Dietrich Enzo so I'd say yes. The owner will have to wait till the free publicity pays off at the box office from that car movie coming out. ;)

Chanel 5 news reported the incident, and one of the hypothesis is this is part of the movie budget to get publicity. Interesting thought.

Saw an interview with Eddie Griffin this morning. He was laughing and making light of the entire situation. His main point was that he is a comic....not a race car driver. I am happy that he was not injured, but the point is that the idiot who made the film and owned the Enzo let an inexperienced driver take a car such as an Enzo on a track at high speeds. Griffin could have been killed or maimed for life! I do not believe for a second that anything on the car locked up...odds are that Griffin just lost control. Its sad that there is one less Enzo around, but I am happy that the owner is now a former owner...he does not deserve to own an Enzo.

When I heard it was totaled — after I heard the driver was OK — I laughed. I thought, "Right, is there such a thing as a totaled Enzo?" Wouldn't I be correct in assuming that if there is a pulse (vin), it will be restored?

I know that Eddie is a comic, and in fact I like most of his film work, but his interview imho was quite disrespectful. He just played the whole thing off and was pretty arogant about the whole thing. He was more concerned about his image than the fact that he just crashed the Enzo. He was playing it off like it was no big deal. I just didn't have much respect for him after hearing him in the interview. I saw two interviews of his. One right as he steped out of the car and another later in the night. Both times he was making a joke out of the whole thing. Sad event for both Daniel and the car.

I think after hitting a concrete wall, having an airbag go off in his face and destroying a $1.2m car his composure was pretty damn good; they guy was obviously shook. Let me see anyone else do that with cameras in your face -- only guy I know that cool is Steve "Iceman" G.

The Enzo will be fixed - it's just a car - and Eddie is ok.

you're an idiot... don't judge people you don't know! they guy put millions of dollars of his own money into this movie... he will probably double the gross due to this incident... And no one could master mind a crash like that, so it was definetly an accident. He rain into a barrier... that's what they are for.. he was doing less than 40 mph... hardly deadly.

The car was probably worth 600k with all the miles and driving that was done to it while filming this movie... The press he got for so lilttle money is priceless! Nevermind the fact that I'm sure insurance will pick up some of the tab... i hope the movie is a big hit! no pun intended... hehe ;)

I do agree he held his composer. I just think he showed more care about his image then he did about anything else. You can't blame him he is a well known face in comedy and he does have an image to uphold. I just felt it was alittle too arrogant despite what happened.

That's exactly how I felt about it too. It could have been a Camry as far as he seemed to care.

Who knows, maybe it was staged? Glad he's OK.

You are entitled to your opinion, but you are NOT entitled to call me or anyone else on F-chat an idiot becuse you happen to disagree. What I said had nothing to do with money, but with letting someone without experience drive a car such as an Enzo on a track. Getting press from an accident is not what this is all about. I hope you get my point.

Another thought is that if he is not a "car guy", perhaps he didnt realize how special that car is. Perhaps to him it is "just an average Ferrari". I know that if for example: my mom got into a traffic accident with an Enzo, she would say: "I got into an accident with a very pretty red car".

We all appreciate what the car represents, perhaps Eddie is not so concerned with automobiles. Who knows, I agree with Noel, glad he is ok.......in comparison to human life "it is only a car".
