Why is it that this break in F1 is harder to deal with than the offseason?

agreed...what puzzles me is why take a 3 week break so early in the season?

Yeah it's only going to get worse with a 4 week break after Bahrain. I think the series is shooting itself in the foot getting everyone all pumped up then taking such huge breaks before the season even gets underway in Europe.

what?! there's a 4 week break after Bahrain? if this is the case, the F1 season should have just started in May.

I totally agree. The Malaysian GP should be 1 week after Melbourne, and then a 2 week break to Bahrain. I hate getting so excited and then re-entering the off season for 3-4 weeks.

    Arg...

Absolutely ridiculous, 4 weeks? They should stick the suzuka gp back in there.

Amen to that! As most of the drivers' favorite track on the calender, they had no right to take that away from all of us. Maybe we can have a races at Fuji and Suzuka in a year or two...

Lame, perhaps they should go to a 20 Race Season and cut out the testing.

well, bernie was quoted saying that the Pacific Gp could be back in the calender in 2008. lets just hope it's true.

i've tried the Fuji speedway. pretty boring. the corners are too tight, nothing exciting besides the long main straight. try the Suzuka circuit and i can go on and on and on...

Yeah. Teams can test on their own time, especially the red cars at Fiorano. :)

I don't understand why they picked Fuji anyways, it's a boring track. I've watched some Japanese GT races on that track, and compared to Suzuka? It's a snooze fest.

Now that I think about it, its the San Marino GP that is missing thus causing such a large gap.

Because Toyota threw down a lot of money, much like they do for their F1 team and it seems the result will be similar for the race there (boring and less good than others).

Yeah, Toyota sure is throwing around alot of money. Too bad they couldn't redesign Fuji so it's more interesting, I mean this track is worse than Indy!

very simple - Bernie excluded Imola this year - hopefully with the reconstruction the San Marino GP will be again back where it belongs - the first European race as it's been in the past. With Bernie's actions, we said scew it and are headed to Monza in a couple weeks for better racing action at the LMS race.

It was about squeezing Imola back in the calendar or not.

They are pouring millions of $ into the new pits, so chances are good it will be back in 2008.

I'm definitely sick of long breaks. Two weeks is what I think it should be. Or maybe a three week break when they change hemispheres. I just hate this. 3 weeks-1 month, far too long. The FIA should be careful. When the rare F1 fan in America can see NASCAR every Sunday and every night on ESPN and their local news, yet see F1 maybe twice a month period, then they run a serious risk of losing people who just like the racing. Pretty sure that isn't going to work on me though.
