Dont bring africa into this. The real reason he did it that way was because he is so strarving for attention that He wanted to crash the enzo so he could get priceless publicity for the new movie. Afterall he did crash two Porscha CGts on purpose already for the film whats an enzo to add to the fire. The reality is he couldnt get better publicity paying for it. Why would the news crews be there in the first place?? There are lots of question so go ahead and attack me guys but all you got on me is my spelling mystakes. JJ
I would,. just providing a $5,000,000 policy is issued and will cover the car in the event of any thing happening to it !.
Ya you're right he crashed it on purpose... -That's why the other drivers wore a helmet and Eddie didn't! -That's why there was only one angle on it, which was the CBS news crew... ohhh yeah, they are in on it too I forgot... -They must have gave a tranquilizer to the moron photographer standing behind the barrier where EDDIE Purposely crashed the Enzo... man, where'd you get all your PI skills...?
Exactly what I was going to say. They wouldn't risk Eddie's health to get a publicity stunt for a movie.
More than one angle. And the guy did jump. http://www.cnn.com/video/player/player.html?url=/video/showbiz/2007/03/27/vo.ferrari.crash.griffin.ktla&checkAgain=false&wm=native_nm can also be seen at http://ktla.trb.com/news/ktla-eddiegriffin,0,2540747.story?coll=ktla-newsspecial3-1 , but the video is smaller. It looks like that guy was holding a videocamera. Where the heck is his footage??
I think it might have just been an accident. Either was planning on stopping the recording, then realized it was best to keep going. Or accidentally stopped it reacting to what was gonna happen.
Yet another angle cut into this video: http://video.msn.com/v/us/fv/msnbc/fv.htm??f=00&g=6b232ab9-aa3b-4139-a35d-36d0695bd719&p=source_countdown&t=c1149&rf=http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036677/&fg=
JJ, Don't open your mouth when you don't know the facts! I'll back Daniel Cause he is a brother to me. He wasn't "starving for attention" It was an accident. luckily CBS was there (for the event) and did get GREAT footage from it. and yes, why not ride the wave of publicity from it. It only DOES help the movie. and your right, he couldn't have paid for better publicity! But if you don't know him, Don't talk behind his back. Be a man.
Good point Armen. My dad's partner is buddy's with Daniel Sadek. But, I heard that the first time he crashed the CGT was by accident!? Is that true? Anyways, I go agree with both of you. Good points!
Yes, the first time he crashed the CGT, it was on the streets. So he figured, Why not use it in the Movie. It was already Pretty close to being totalled then!
Ok point taken. I will keep my mouth shut. If you know me though I just like to keep it interesting by ruffeling as many feathers as I can. And thanks for at least acknowledging the publicity part. You have to admit that it is a bit strange that they already wrecked several porsches and that this particular enzo had already been in an accident makes you wonder if there is a pattern emerging. JJ Just a side note. This is a public forum so not really talking behind anyones back just bantering about the subject at hand. But I will be nicer..
In the first video on here, Eddie claims that a cone got stuck under the wheel: http://www.laist.com/archives/2007/03/27/was_yesterdays_ferrari_crash_simply_good_marketing.php
Preaching to the choir on that part . In my 20's I was a motorcycle roadracer. I still ride a Turbo Busa with over 380RWHP and a liter Honda sportbike with over 180RWHP and a wet weight of 385lbs. Even as a old fart familyman I still chat with many a PoPo. The insurance at least for me is covered by a complicated deal my business manager set up so my rates are very low . Plus I only haul a$$ at 3 or 4 in the morning ( less traffic less PoPo).
So my film producing partner and myself have definitively concluded that this Enzo wreck was indeed staged. The evidence? First, this wealthy first time producer has wrecked and used a super car for publicity before, telling anyone and everyone who would listen the story of his Carerra GT and how it ended up being "crashed" in the film. Second, word on the street is the movie is an absolute mess. After shopping it far and wide trying to find a distributor he is now having to release it himself which means distribution and marketing costs are coming out of his own pocket. "Four Walling" is what it's called when the financier of a film also needs to finance the release of the film in theaters. Normally this is something a Lions Gate, Warner Brothers or Sony would do. Now, onto the video of the actual crash. On a film set when you're about to do a stunt the safety crew is often in very close proximity. They are often highly trained and do not panic. You'll notice that there was absolutely no panic after the car hit the barrier. The photographer behind the barrier didn't flinch. The few people we see in the video walk over to the car to ask Eddie if he was ok. There's a clip floating around of Nicole Kidman behind the wheel of a stunt car which is loaded onto a camera truck. The truck swings out of control and side swipes a lamp post. You'll notice everyone comes running! No one came running for Eddie. That's because this was planned and as designed he was never really in any danger for this stunt. Lastly,my producing partner (a former stuntman himself) is certain the two guys besides Sadek we see walking up to Eddie are actually Stunt Coordinators. So, we're going to find out their names through the stunt community grapevine. Once that's done everyone on Ferrarichat at least will have the definitive answer. That this is a marketing ploy and the money it will cost to fix the Enzo pales in comparison to the marketing money he'd have to spend through traditional means to get the word on his film out. It also pales in comparison to what he'll lose on this film if it tanks. Budget is estimated at 15 million.
Been mullin' this one over. Here's my 2c. Some people learn to share their toys early in life. They get enjoyment out of seeing others enjoy them as they do. The real lucky ones are successful enough to get really good toys. They still get enjoyment out of sharing them. They are really lucky to be able to give others thrills they wouldn't ordinarily get. I like having friends like that. I wish I had more. I hope I'm a friend like that. If that makes me and my friends fools, I wanna be a really big fool!!!!!!
I loved how he just got out of the car all smiles lol I think I would have been a lil more worried. But then again, I dont have to spare cash to replace it. But I really liked what Daniel Sadek had to say about the whole thing. I cant find the exact quote, but something like it was his dream car and his favorite car, but that there are people dying in other places of the world, so his wrecked car means nothing in the big picture.
He didn't get out of the car "all smiles", he got out of the car like a person who just hit a wall. What's more he was lazily approached as if a stunt on a movie set was just completed. That would be because the whole thing was staged. No one flinched, no one jumped, no one ran over in alarm.
