That one's pretty bad. Looks like the drivers were getting kind of crazy anyway, that red 355 almost hit that girl. Stupid for doing that kind of thing when it's slick anyway.

On another note, I'd say that Eriksson ranks up there with the best of the worst. Come to think of it, I can only think of two Enzo crashes where stupidity was not involved. No disrespect to the owners, but most of the time these things happen because of a pointless decision that the driver made. I may not be remembering all of them, but only two come to mind.

The majority of car crashes are results of stupidity ie. speeding and cell phones

Concerning the Monaco F50 crash - am I wrong to think that the whole exercise is stupid? That pushing these cars through those tiny mazes is asking them to do something they're really not designed to do?

My vote is when the diamond fell off the Jaguar in Monaco. But that was a Jag, not a Ferrari. Nevermind.

Wasn't the first Enzo that was wrecked one that was taken out by an insurance company? Ironic, huh?

I know this thread is mainly dealing with road-car accidents, but on the racing front, what about Alain Prost, definitely a man with a lot of talent, crashing on the warm-up lap in the 1991 San Marino Grand Prix?

Another, more sinister, thought came to my mind. The accident looks so stupid as to be unbelieveable. Was somebody looking for a write off? While insurance probably was not involved (but could ahve been) this event was done as a movie promo. Couldn't its loss (like the Carrara GT totaled in the movie) that will be witten as an expense?

Agreed it is not a Ferrari, but I'm curious now. Was it the stunt that involves diamonds that were then put in the nose of their F1 cars?

If it is, I never knew it fell off. How embarassing!

Yes, it was a publicity stunt. It was promoting the movie Ocean's 12. The Jag crashed, and the diamond was never seen again. Some course worker has a VERY nice souvenir.
