I see no reason to try the stunt coordinators who if this was staged are simply hired hands. If this turns out to be a staged stunt then that's just what it is and the truth is always a lovely thing one way or the other. When you have tens of millions of dollars on the line why wouldn't you go all out for marketing? When you've seen the publicity that Erickssson got from wrecking his Enzo why wouldn't you attempt the same thing so that you could recoup your investment? A wrecked Enzo is a small price to pay considering what he could lose if the movie doesn't do well.

AJ...as we come down to the wire (hopefully) with this thread, you have a narrow 2-1 lead in name calling. My instincts tell me that you just may win. It may not be as close as Ferrari's GT2 win at Sebring, but it will be close!

 

If you knew anything about staging stunts you would know/see that in this particular case there was very little risk where the actors safety was concerned.

As for this remaining a secret who knows. Most of the country still thinks Tom Cruise is a straight white male. So it doesn't really matter whether the secret gets out or not or how far and wide the truth may or may not go. Sadek needs a big opening weekend and that's that.

By the way, when is this "charity event" going to take place or has it been called off now that one car has been wrecked?

Needless to say, this event has caused quite a stir. While I have enjoyed some of the more humorous responses, I am also disturbed by the "facts" proclaimed by some so-called experts.

As anything stated by Danny or Eddie will never be taken as fact, I can tell you the following which I know to be true...

A) This was not staged. It truly was an accident.
B) Eddie was upset that this happened and apologized profusely off camera.
C) Danny was not as upset initially. He is trying to comfort himself publically with the thought that the media exposure was compensation of sort. Danny is a very kind person and was more concerned about Eddie's safety.

Now I'm not saying it couldn't have been organized better. Its easy being an arm-chair quarterback. And I'm certain that the "could of / should have" debate will continue. However, unless you were there and Know Danny and Eddie, I would refrain from any speculation based upon "I know a guy, who knows a guy, who's cousin's best friend worked at the refreshment table".

I don't want to be a kill joy. Nor do I want to offend anyone. I just can not stand by silently when the truth is not spoken.

 

you're right the camera guy behind the barrier was NEVER in ANY Danger...Especially with such an expeienced Stunt Driver...
The Camera guy was such a professional that he didnt even flitch when the ENZO came barreling at him... maybe it was the 50 times they practiced crashing Enzos..

it couldnt have been his tunnel vision or the fact that he had no idea the car was coming towards him that he didn't have ANY time to react... it was because he was such a pro KNOWING the enzo would hit the barrier and not go over it that he didn't even move an inch... You should find out his name and Hire him.. he's the one with the golden nads.

I totally have Armen's back- this could NOT have been staged and was NOT planned with an amateur driver with such exact results. I personally saw and spoke with Eddie a few hours after the crash, and I believe that it was real and that his left arm was banged up and he was in pain.

Also, the guy behind the barrier, wouldn't there have been a pro with a video-cam to get the shot? The guy was definitely startled. Where are his pics?

 

I agree about the camera guy behind the barrier. He did react to the crash in the other video angle. And like Frank4cars said you get a tunnle vision and a distorted view of what your taking pics of and dont realize how close somethings are to you as your filming or snapping. I took these pics at Montery Historics of a car hitting the tires and the cameraman never moved and was covered in dust. JJ

 

I completely agree. unfortunatly when a guy gets successful everyone likes to knock him down. that is just how most people are! I hope his movie does great!!!

Best of Luck to Daniel on the opening of his movie. Hopefully the Enzo can be repaired/replaced and I'm glad to see no one was hurt. I'll pay for my admission tickets the opening weekend and hope its a big success.
