Good, he needs that kind of publicity. Flavio was pissed after Melbourne.

I hope he can bounce back at Sepang, and I have a feeling he will.

I hope so too and if he does then we're still left wondering what the hell went wrong in Melbourne?

Stage fright maybe? Anyways, a good performance by him at Sepang will make some people forget his performance at Melbourne, and keep Flavio from pulling a Trulli on him lol.

Sorry about the typo. "Want" is supposed to be between don't and him.

I wish for testing they would post the fastest lap of the driver as well as their average lap time over the course of the session.

Yeah, that would be nice. Heikki might have been VERY low on fuel with some fresh rubber for all we know.

i think it's gonna be a wet Malaysian GP this weekend. thats wat the local weather people are predicting, and for once, i'm thinking the same.

it's been raining like crazy the whole of last week, and if it rains the raceday, it's gonna be a thunderstorm. can't wait :)

HERESY! - F1 has *never* been about "averages" :)

Bolt on a fresh set, empty the tank, and go for it! - Use your "out" lap to set up the all important "clear track", do one (maybe two) laps, and cool it down. How can an "average" be important or relevant?

Throw in "long run" testing and a "session average" is worse than useless IMHO.

BTW, please note that I am definitely not suggesting HK is about to snatch pole this weekend....

Unquestionably! - That's my point - He did good!

    Cheers,
    Ian

I don't think I said anything about getting rid of the low fuel fresh tyre fast lap times Ian. However as a fan I'd like to get a little more information from the testing that the fast lap data can give us. I'm sure all the teams testing know the average times for everyone else, so as a fan it would be nice to see how all the teams are progressing. You're not going to win a race with a fastest lap so the data isn't really that relevant as we found out with Massa over the winter.

Neither did I...... I'd love to see 'em go back to the "open track, one hour, do what you want" format, but that's another story.....
Ahh - That's a different issue IMHO - I totally agree with you - "More info is good", I just don't think an 'average lap time' is the way to get that info.

I have no better ideas however :)

    cheers,
    Ian

Sounds like you're talking about qualifying, not testing times.
