A bit more than $35,000 though... The ones I've seen have been going for closer to $65-70,000! There's a waiting list for a new one, but there's a used one on eBay if you want one now... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ariel-Atom-Supercharged-300-HP_W0QQitemZ200094509160QQcategoryZ6472QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I have a Lotus 7 series 3. It is a real trip on the open road. The problem is that it stands 36. 5 inches off the ground to the top of the windshield or rollbar. Everything and I mean everything is taller even the GT40. An SUV will never know you are there, never mind a full size truck.
yeah, i suppose the atom is no more visible. but it has impressive beams along the side to protect the occupants if hit. i have always wanted a seven, ever since i saw a picture of it as a six in popular mechanics back in, what? 1956? tom w
I don't think there is a waiting list. They've been emailing me to pull the trigger on one for over a yr. The prices are closer to 70k. I think I'll wait
Its a really neat car, but with all the gravel on the roads in Calgary you would have to wear a helmet and you would only get to use it 6 days a year when its nice enough weather..come on global warming!
I've lusted after a Lotus Elise after seeing them in London years before they were imported here. And I guess I'm getting scared in my old age but that is a HUGE consideration for me with all the cell talking SUV drivers here. Hell I was almost hit by one today and I was driving an MDX.
yeah, the tiny cars would be best employed on the track. or out in the boonies. if i didn't get hit or steamrollered i would probably have heart failure from worrying about it. tom w
