Hi to all 308 Tifosi's A friend of mine have got a '84 308GTS QV, and he's having some problems with his window, on the drivers side. The window are now rolled down and he's unable to colse it, he cant hear the el.motor for the window lift either. The problem occured a few months ago (before winter sleep) he rolled down the window, and couldnt close it right away, but after a while he managed to close it again.....so he THINK (and hope) it's just some bad connection in there somewhere........what do you think guys??? IS this a common 308 problem? Should he look somewhere else?? IF the el.motor is broken, are these hard to get??? He is gonna open the door panel to have a look, but he's not sure of how to remove the door panel. So if there are any pics or a good write-up in this section please post it and I'll bring him the message! Any hint's/tip's are highly appreciated! Cheers Paul
Check the wire in the bottom of the switch - they can come loose - I seem to recall there's a dedicated fuse too There's a bunch of motor threads here if it is anything more
What he said - there is a dedicated fuse (well there is on my 1980 308) - they are clearly marked as RH Glass Lifter etc. Other than that remove the door card and have a look - there is no rocket science involved. A multi-meter and a search on this forum should fix it
The switch is probably flaky. Replace it, take it apart and clean it or swap it with the passenger door one. See http://www.parrotbyte.com/kbc/ferrari/308/WindowSwitches.htm for cleaning a switch.
If it is the switch, here is a replacement. EXACT same as an 82 ALFA Spider so get it here - unless you just have to pay more for the same thing from a dealer. http://www.international-auto.com/index.cfm?fa=p&pid=2556
here is a better link: http://www.international-auto.com/index.cfm?fa=p&pid=2556&addcar=1 27 bucks plus s/h. Try to beat that somewhere else.
