Took my attorney for a short drive yesterday. Hit the on ramp and took it up to a little over the speedlimit (+40). V-1 started singing so let off down to the limit. A few seconds later there was one of California's finest, radar gun trained on the traffic. Smiled as we drove by at the appropriate speed. Thank you V-1! :)

(Anyone reading this from law enforcement, I'm only kidding, really, I made the story up for fun and to gain the favor of my peers with fast cars.)

Yep. I have 'made up' those situations myself. The V-1 sure can save your license... if these stories were real. ;)

If only all the V-1 stories I read all over the internet were real, it would be one heck of a radar detector that has never been used :)

Now what does the statement of taking your lawyer with you have to do with avoiding a ticket?

The CA bar des not pass out dispensation certificates!!!

Was driving back from Florida a few weeks back, had the XM radio blaring, and my V1 saved me not once, not twice but 3 separate times. FHP was everywhere due to Spring Breakers, and was running Ka bands and Laser. I love love love my V1!

There was a recent thread where some guys were suggesting they don't work, they're not worth the money, just keep your eyes open, etc. I strongly disagreed with that but haven't voiced it. I got a ticket recently in NYC on the FDR drive (yeah, I know, who would have imagined that!) but wasn't using the V1. I seldom drive anywhere without it now, and it has undoubtedly saved me on numerous occasions. It's unambiguous. -Brian

Does anyone think the new Escort 9500i will be a valid competitor against the V1 as far as performance? The GPS feature seems interesting. As I tend to drive the same route every day, the Escort's ability to ignore false alarms sounds like a useful feature (making the big assumption that it works as advertised).
