First I would just like to say hello to everyone. I’m taking in all of the information I can here on F/C before decide on my next toy purchase. I have my eye on a few different vehicles and the 348 is one? How much is too much to pay for a 348 GTB in nice condition? If I find a car that is in need of a 30k, would $5000 cover it at a Ferrari dealership? Besides a 30k and a clean Car fax, what else should I be aware of when looking at a 348? Regards, Jason.http://formula-1-sport-cars.ebizautos.com/detail-1992-ferrari-348-tb-1263824.html

That is a very nice car. Based on wear it appears millage is accurate. However $63,8 seems a bit steep for a '92 tb. I would think for a very nice example mid $50's. Do a search here and you'll see. There have been 348's going for low 40's and even some in the high 30's.

Check out www.the348.com and that may answer some of your ?'s.

i would guess you are looking at around $45K for a well taken care of GTB then look to drop $6K-$8K for the major service. But after that, youre good to go for a while!

The car is actually a TB. The GTB 348's were not sold in the U.S. and any that are hear are gray market cars.

I would say very high 40's - low 50's for that car, depending on what the P.P.I. finds. DO NOT take the word of the dealer selling the car that it is "okay". Get an inspection on the car done at the shop of your choice, then decide.

$5,000 for the major at the dealer won't cover it. At a good indepentant yes, but not the dealer. Or you can do like some of us :D and do the job yourself. Buy all the tools you'll need and still have a few thousand left over.

    Other things to look for:

    1) Slow windows, and the condition of the wires in the door jam

    2) The clutch, especially the condition of the flywheel. You may have a car that has had a fresh 30k service done, but is in need of a new clutch, flywheel, or both which can equal just as much, especially if done at the dealer.

    3) Make sure that the automatic seatbelt tracks are working.

    4) When the key is placed in the ignition, and moved to the on position but not started, make sure that ALL the instrument lights come on, ALL of them. It is easy to pull out a light bulb so that a check engine light doesn't come on, giving the illusion that things are "okay".

    5) If the car has to be smogged, that the cats are in good working condition.

But like I said, get a good PPI done as it will cover all of that stuff.

Disconnect the bullet connectors underneath each seat.

Yes! Let me count the ways:
    #1, pull the connectors
#2, pull the power cables to the mouse motors (by engine ECUs)
#3, unplug the mouse motor ECUs (in front of the stick shift, under the A/C panel)
    #4, remove the tracks
    #5, remove the motors...

Lots of ways to kill the mouse; just do it!

Now how about the red warning lights on the dash tattling on your evil effort to "off" the mouses? And don't say to just remove the bulbs.

Stop selling this car short of what its true value is. I own a 1992 348 GTB Series Speciale with only 11500 miles and would not let it go for less than $65k. Why do you out there continue to sell this car cheaper than what it's truly worth. You are only hurting the market of this car. Get a hold of yourselves and be a little more patient when selling. The next time I hear someone holding out for $30 - $40 k they should reconsider purchasing a FERRARI 348.

You did good I admit, but it was undersold once more again. Great buy. To the person who sold it to you, he or she should be ashamed of themselves.
