can you say what it was though? or just "odd", like a gf wearing make-up different enough that you can think she's someone else....
where those two tunnels are over the carbs....it's meant to be satin black from front all the way to the rear INCLUDING the section btwn the tunnel thingy and the air intake.

I built a plastic model of that as a kid and was my favorite for years and years! In fact i think that was the reason I smoked JPS for years.
Sam Johsons F1 V6 replicar Dino at the Creek, good guy Bill Prowse in his GTB275 and the late Murray(the merchant) Richards in his black 250 GTE.Photos from the late 80s. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
During the 1989 Lucas GP rally I had the good fortune to have a ride in John Blanden's 289 Cobra. No way in the world I could drive it as I didn't fit (too tall). As I recall it felt raw and a little agricultural from the passenger seat and the noise was fabulous. A great experience. These were taken in the late 1970's when Fangio and Moss came to Sandown raceway. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Totally agree: I'm pretty sure it was at the Melbourne Ferrari 60th Anniversary parade in March and then at the April Concours.
It's popping up again! Go to this site and look at the cool Race trailer: http://classicthrottleshop.com.au/cars.htm

the sister trailer(not Glenn's) is still in Melbourne parked in Hawthorn. In the late '60s my father bought of Mr Rice is wonderful Rolls Royce Phantom 111 (V12) Gurney Nutting Sedanca 3 postition coupe.
no in the 50s and 60s they were the best horse floats, race trailers built in Australia, most of the photos you see of race trailers with Brabhams,'50s Maserati's and Ferrari race cars, yep it was a Rice trailer. The history of that trailer IMO makes it worth all of what they want for it,but few of the old farts racing historics would have the vision to buy it.Glenn should sell it to the current owner of the Maserati 300s.Any race driver with money in the late 50s or the 60s had a Rice trailer.
the 289 ended up with Bowden in Qld. Jonh's daughter and son in law now live at that house. Jan has built herself a nice unit about 5 minutes away. the only car in that garage now is a FJ Holden John restored with Craig. the library is still intact though. PS. nice to see this thread back up and running.
You do realise that isn't saying very much Rob! Is that David Rod's btw? I am waiting for Delaney to get sick of his Kirkham replica 427 and sell it to me- now that car wets my whistle!
Dunno mate; but that photo was definitely Sandown raceway in the 1970's. Wouldn't be surprised if it has been out here more than once.
