    A) give the F430 more power so its price isnt so emberassing compared to its faster competitors (hopfull the CS will do it but the GT2 and SS/bluedevil will be out soon as well.

    B) Make a modern 288 GTO from the F430 complete with a couple turbos. Keep the styling VERY similer to the original 288, just smooth it out a bit.

    C) The Enzo replacment should be more F40 then FXX or enzo (weight, electronics, etc.) back to the basics!

    D) and lastly a pickup truck... definitly

    A) Give it more power just because Corvettes are getting out of hand...they are not 'competitors'...

    B) make a rehash of an older model. yes, it may be an icon, but lets leave retro to Ford, Chevy...

I personally agree with giving the F430 more power. They should give it at least 530-550 bhp. I'm getting sick of Z06 owners bragging about smoking a $200,000 Ferrari.

As for Enzo's replacement, I really like the style of the Enzo compared to F40/F50 but that's just me.

Lastly, Ferrari making a pick-up truck? NO! Its not that I don't like trucks but because Ferrari is known for making exotic sports cars, not trucks.

I'm still proud of them for having built the 360CS - I think it's becoming more and more difficult to build a car with a hard edge, especially for the US market. I had hoped for a "stradale" version of the 575, to complement the 575GTC, but it never came. At a recent gathering, I spent my couple minutes with FNA folks asking them to build raw, basic cars and "leave out the air conditioning." I give them high marks for patience.

I think that, if you love the F40 feel, you have to buy an F40. I hope the 430 "CS" will be a very extreme machine.

I have a 430 (I'm guessing most, if not all, responders so far do not) and, frankly, the last thing I would change is to give it more power. As it is, you rarely get to use it for more than a few seconds on the street. Wind it out in 4th gear and you are already in "take me to jail" territory. I wish it were 5-10% smaller, lighter than it is, even if it had a smaller motor to go with it. Today's cars are becoming sick with power. Bragging rights in the HP race doesn't impress me. Hell, I could sink 10K into my Subie STI and smoke all of them.

I'd always take more torque and power (I've owned a 430 and have a 430 Challenge car); however, I agree that it is virtually useless for street purposes. I don't know that performance numbers will matter much in the near future when, as you point out, almost any car can be modified to supercar levels - the Evo is another example. I think the top level manufacturers are going to have to rely more and more on design and customiztion services to differentiate their products.

yes i was kidding about the truck part :D

Id might ok with same power F430 as long as it weighed well under 3000lbs. But theres no reason they cant toss 50 more hp on it to outperform everyone else.

The Ariel Atom does 0-60 in well less then 3 sec, the Caterham (Lotus 7 update) at about 3.1 sec. 0-60 all for under $75,000 each. I don't think anyone would argue that they are not in the same league as a Ferrari. They won't reach 200 mph but will smoke a Z06.

That **** was pretty kewl. It was Ferrari red with the CS strip and it had the scuderia shields. I think it belonged to the Ferrari team but I was laughing for days. Ironically the guys driving it were going pretty fast too.

    apples and oranges IMHO

the only real difference between the vette and the f430 is the price...

Ferrari really needs to make cars that are so good people will stand in line to get them.

People will willingly pay 30% over sticker to get one.

People will buy a couple of overpriced used cars to get and undefined spot on a "LIST" to get one.

A car so cool that there are several, possibly many buyers for every car built.

Oh........you say all that is already happening?

    Hmmm.

    Get real.
    Ferrari is doing just fine.
There is not a producer of goods on planet Earth that is not envious of Ferrari's position in the market place.

GM, Ford, and Chrysler need help, not Ferrari

Amici e Frattelli = Friends and Brothers,

Ferrari doesn't need to do anything. They are at the TOP! Il Commendatore, could not have done a better job, of deofication of his cars and legend. Especially in Modern Times. But, "The Old Man", had one regret about his street cars, that it was a young man's car in spirit, but the price is so expensive that only an older successful man could afford to experience his cars. The market place has many cars for the young men amongst us, that is true. There are NO Ferraris, that the average guy will ever own, new or used. in today's reality. That would be something I think he would have liked to have changed.

    Ciao...Paolo

But if there were, some would claim that it would diminish the mystique of the marque. And, as much as I hate to say it, they'd be right.
