no tom, WE WILL not add fuel to this one... these fellows have too much to lose for us to be having fun. this is a serious issue with high $$ cars...

so far, joe has apologized .... but for what ? i dont know... he was not specific.

he has lots at stake and i am sure he will clarify...apalogize ? not needed here...maybe in a private email to roy....but not to us...

clarify and make us feel safe about the registry is what is important.

why is glen and why does glen need this heat ?? for no reason..

he owns no miuras or countaches... (for now) ... maybe he will...we got close to get him in a jalpa...

glen, a 1986 downdraft white countach ???? sending u pics soon...!

hopefully, everyone will be happy again in 2 weeks from now and we'll all turn the page.

What was your chassis number? I'll see what I can do. I receive about 20 car per day to add to the Registry so as you can imagine I am falling behind. I believe I am sitting on several thousand cars added. I'll try to get yours done quicker.

With the exception of the "sale proof" comment, I see nothing wrong with the registry entry. It provides valuable information on the cars history, including color changes, up until I read this thread I was under the impression that the car was originally yellow.

The sale proof could have been left off though, it may be a fact but it has no bearing on registry entry.

Flippin' heck! I can't believe I've just read that exchange.

I've always enjoyed Roy and Joe's posts on this forum - because I know they both love Lamborghinis. I don't own one but have worshipped the marque since Countach's adorned my bedroom wall when I was kid.

Just let it go love the bull.

    I still respect you both

It all seems like much adieu about nothing. This is an apparently outstanding example of a rare and sought after car. It should speak for itself. I never give much weight to commentary either way when real money is on the line. I remember the car from Ebay. I agree that it's a good place to get exposure and it's not uncommon for a car to relist. No stigma just a fact.

Everyone has an opinion, isn't it great that we have freedom of speech.

I never knew there were detailed comments about the cars on the Registry before this thread started. I wonder how many others have even read them?

    As of April 5th 2007.

We know that the car was manufactured in white.

Then it was repainted in California in gold.

It was restored in yellow in 1996.

I hope Im not slandering the car by exposing the fact that it has existed in 3 different colors, but due to all the fuss Im sure the faithful with note.

Thanks Mike for your comments. Always level-headed as usual, unlike the children around here.
By the way, I have of course conceded to the fact that feelings were hurt (I always used to think that car collectors had thicker skins but that must have been back in the day when men were men), apologised for precisely that and instructed a simplifcation of the entry. All has been done that I will ever do and Im fine with that.
However, my position is that when the world-record number for a car is $365k and someone advertises a similar or lesser car for $595k, the latter car is "Sale-Proof". Period. No whining needed, thats just a FACT, so lets get used to that expression.

Yippee! Sounds like something my daughter would say (honestly).
Watch that Coke & Popcorn combination Tommy Boy, it has a way of adding even more inches to the expanding girth.....

    Aaah yes, the never-ending questions.

    1. I felt the need to change the entry because I thought it was very significant that a Miura P400S was asking $595,000. Thats BIG news Id want to know if I went on the Registry. Id also want to know that car's status leading up to its sudden and inexplicable price hike to a level that has absolutely no comprehension in the current timeframe.
    2. I described the car as one of the greatest P400S in the country based on the sellers description supported by images. By the time I made the latter entry, I had listed 3 other P400S one of which was vastly superior, and I felt that 'decent' in the context of which it was used meant "respectable" despite the fact that it seemed perpetually for sale (it still is!). Who stops YOU from changing the price on this car from $595k to $625k?? You make changes when you feel they are warranted.

a registry should not contain any types of opinions or un-needed commentary. The comments on the registry is both libelistic and slanderistic against Roy and his Miura. I suggest as a registry owner to eliminate such type of commentary and keep it factual. It is unfair to the owner and done in poor taste/class IMO

A rant and a rave from a stone-throwing Roy Cats who lives in a glass house...perhaps before others are judged so unneccesarily harshly, ensure that your own existence is lilly-white pure.

Is this not the person who has said to MANY people on this thread (myself included in writing) that Driven Exotics in Gilroy is "his" shop? How many here have heard that? PM me for the details...

Is this not the person that tells everyone who will listen that "Im not in this for the money"? What then does someone buy cars to re-sell for? Just pure phoney-baloney rhetoric...

But I was assured by someone from an authorized Lamborghini dealer in Washington somewhere that some people just have a way of digging their own graves. I guess that old saying holds true more for some than others

Slanderistic? Is that a new word?

Baloney. The use of "decent" and "sale-proof" (where it pertains to an insane price) is not even close to being libel or slander.

Dont thank me thank Glen who slaves without thanks or appreciation from most here.

And the description has always been real - YOU just couldnt handle it that way.

The bottom line is, if the Registry had no real value this thread wouldnt exist!!!.

And as for you Roy, the bottom line is your Miura P400S 3787 is perpetually for sale and is being advertised for free on the Registry where thousands of poeople per day can find it. Thats why the honest entry wasnt to your liking. Do you know that we would be happy to oblige if you wished us to remove it altogether without trace if you so desire? Glen & I have already discussed this so just give us the word good sir and itll go bye-bye forever. Not every car we know about is posted on the registry. There are in fact some very private collections out there. At least the owners of those cars dont have to worry about a wrong descrptive word, heaven forbid! Meanwhile, if you can set up a better registry, please, go right ahead, dont wait, start now. Then youll get an idea what its like to run one. LOL.

I will tell you this: the Registry aint going anywhere. It isnt perfect, but its the NUMBER ONE Lamborghini website worldwide. Like it or leave it.

I can't believe a resource as invaluable as the lamborghini registry has come under attack like this. Not to mention the scrutiny that the people who work tirelessly (and thanklessly it seems) have come under that keep it running and current.

Well, the attacker better brace hard. Not on a venue here like Ferrari Chat, but where it reaklly matters. I wouldnt so much as.....try to drive a US Street illegal Diablo GTR on the road lest an untimely demise with the US Customs should present itself ;-) LOL. What a waste of a thread.

At least we learned Miura 3787 has had 3 colors...slander you say? I should be thrown in jail.
