Carol, Thanks for the compliments (great mind, good picker of beer)! The west coast guys (i.e. tonyc et al) have it easier this race but for the European swing we get to sleep 2 hours later! Steve
We all must be crazy. Brian - right now it's 12:25 am (Sunday am) here near Waco, TX and it's only 10:25 pm (Saturday night) for Tony in Monterey, CA. Wonder where Ron is?? (Tifosi Ron) he's an hour ahead of us. Carol (watching the replay of qualifying)
Engine change for Rubens - will start at back of grid (well, not that it really matters!) Observations regarding the race: Tire preservation is going to be a major influence in the race, especially as the level of degradation will be very high. Cockpits are going to be mobile saunas. Suspicion that Massa may be running a lap or two lighter than Ferrari team mate Kimi Raikkonen, but the McLarens are only likely to be a lap apart on fuel load. Both Lewis and Alonso should be better matched in the race. McLaren are hoping Raikkonen’s engine will give trouble following its small water loss in Australia. The heat will seek out any weaknesses in any cars and all of the top drivers have been at pains to suggest that anything can happen in this race. Just over an hour to race time.
First turn - from start to turn 1 306 km/h in 6th gear to 78 km/h in 1st gear onto turn 2 in first to 73 km/h ---->> wonder how the race will begin??? Carol
HAh! I don't expect that to happen at all. I just got out of the shower and am ready to watch the amazing end to qualifying on replay before what should be a great race.
YES! wow i love that qualifying round i can't keep from throwing my hands up in the air everytime i watch Massa cross the finish line.
Big wow! Wish I had seen it live or at least not read about the results before watching the replay. Go Massa Go!
When I watched it the first time, my heart was really pounding hard that last minute until Massa crossed the start/stop line.
thanx Tony. i'm back now, and i just called one of my girl whose on the track. she says traffic's slow and it's really hot and humid. no sign of rain....yet..
Sweet little technical bit they just did on speed, I hope they keep that up for the remainder of the season. Also makes me want to comment on the new telemetry graphics they have during the race, also pretty cool.
During the prerace interviews it looks like blue skys with some puff clouds. As much as I loved the last rain race, I want the rain to stay away until the Ferrari cars are well ahead of the pack
The "g-meter" woudl be better with numbers. The placement on the track is great, hope we see it during the race with the relative locations of the front runners. I heard the annoucners mention that during pit stops that graphic would come on.
