Early this morning just after midnight my buddy and I were northbound on 294 and we saw a red 355 wrapped around a light pole just before the Ogden Ave west exit. Has anyone heard anything about it? I hope the occupant(s) of the car are okay.

There were 3 IDOT trucks there when we passed the scene fixing up the light pole so we didn't bother to stop. I wonder if the car will end up at CMS since the accident happened so close to there.

It was my Dad and brother. My brother was driving. Nothing crazy and neither remember what brought the back around. Besides some soreness from the seat belts - no injuries - thanks for the concern. No airbag deployment due to the gradual energy absorption. The doors still open, though not all the way, and the front is impacted dead center up to the firewall including a cracked windshield. The roof is not kinked.

The car should not be repaired, so we are hopeful that it will be totalled. It was an excellent example with zero history, no stories, and maintanence complete by Scuderia Rampante. A real shame. I will make sure that the VIN is documented with Ferrari and fchat to prevent any future scams.

Needless to say, we will replace it. The search begins again for a like fcar 97-99.

Glad no one was hurt. It's always good to hear that there were no injuries in a very unfortunate accident like this one.
Good luck in the search for a new car.

    You know what?
Every time I read your post I get angry and jealous because all I can think is that nice dry and warm weather you have while I have to deal with the worst Winter and cold in many, many years.
Even today, supposedly in the middle of Spring,it's subzero temps and snowing.(While you are enjoying your Ferrari).
I think I want a house in Dubai...

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Absolutely the main thing is that everyone is ok. Unfortunately, the attention is now on the condition of the car. It is at the authorized repair shop for Continental, the dealership in Hinsdale. They have been their repair shop for 23 years, and are authorized directly by FCNA.

After having the car delivered there that evening, we covered it very well, and Monday the car was moved indoors to prepare an estimate. Given the weather in Chicago, it's very fortunate that the car was moved indoors and will remain there.

As a side note, one of the tech's said not to feel too badly, that they just finished repairing similar damage to a 599 with about 400 miles on it!!
