Will be parting with 75gt4... need help with pricing

I'm considering selling my Dino as I have a new Audi R8 coming in at the end of the year. My question is: Where should I start as a realistic asking price?

The specifics...

1975, Red/tan, 82K miles, serial #09568.
15 year old paint and interior.
500 miles on freshly rebuilt motor
81mm wiseco 10.5:1 compresion pistions, SS valves, all new gaskets, seals, etc.

Any ideas would be appreciated

You car looks very nice in the photo's. Very professionally done.

Having just gone through an extensive GT4 search process and final purchase, my non-professional assessment of the current market is:

Concours/near concours correct, low mileage, excellent condition with recent service and records $30 - $35K

Very good condition, mid mileage, some rebuild/repairs $25 - $30K

Decent driver with normal wear/tear $20 - $25K

Prices are on the way up, it seems....there is another thread comparing recent published pricing for GT4 vs. GTB/GTS that is worth a read.

I agree with John's assessment, non professionally speaking of course!

Where are you located. A quick search of your VIN shows an Austrailan car.
The VIN is lumped in with the '74 cars on the dino-registry, but that does not necessarily mean anything.

Yeah..OK I see your point. That is, admittedly, the best looking Audi I've seen.

I have a question for you about your gt4. Did you have the bumpers moved in? Mine are moved in also but do not look moved in as much as yours. I like yours better. Could you give me a measurement as to how much they were pushed in and what process was used...if you know of course. Thanks, Blaine.

BTW that's a killer looking gt4. Good luck with the sale but I don't think you'll have any trouble selling it. Demand for these cars seems to be on the rise.

I removed the bumpers and shocks. Removed the hydraulic oil by drilling a 3.5mm hole and then compressed the shocks all the way in. Then I installed a set screw in the holes I drilled(1/shock), remounted the whole assembly, and that was it. Now they only protrude 1 inch beyound the bumper trim.

I don't know where you are located, but since you will be at Monterey, you may want to consider letting Tillack & Co. look at your car. I was fortunate to have them perfrom a PPI that supported the sale of my '74 euro model 308 GT4, and they were aboslutely amazing. Their customer service is unmatched, and the assessment was honest and very detailed. I even received some coaching on the range for a fair asking price, which I kept in mind when negotiating with the buyer - I got what I was asking.
Just my humble opinion.
