    Hi all,

I'm really unexperienced to give a modelcar a new paintjob. Can somebody give me a few tips and a kind of manual to give a modelcar a really good paintjob. I already bought the paint-brush kit fom Revell, so that has to be good. Thanks in advance.

Don't use a brush to paint a model car body; that's done with spray paint.

Tamiya canned spray lacquers give great results, even for a beginner after a little practice.

I'd buy a cheap kit or two to practice spray painting on before you do the model you really want to. The extra cost of the practice models and paint will be worth it, believe me.

Painting tutorial from the master, Alex Kustov, plus a lot of other good car-modelbuilding info are on this page:

Sorry...when you said brushes, I assumed hand brushes.

The same advice holds on the air brush: Practice before you use it on your good models.

The airbrush is the choice of pro model builders...if you jump in and learn to use it now, you'll be that much ahead and won't have to bother with "rattle cans" of spray paint for car bodies, even though you can get good results with the canned Tamiya lacquers I mentioned.

The cans are most useful for painting parts in bulk, or parts that don't require a super fine finish.

I also own an airbrush but have never used it...one of these days I'll get it out.

First thing you have to realize are the basics. The most important part of applying a good paintjob is the preparation of the model before that.Another important part is to understand the paint you are working with.
I can keep going and going but the truth is that you have to practice and try different stuff. It takes time and many mistakes.
