Yes I know it’s only been 2 races thus far but I have to admit that I am very impressed by Hamilton. Alonso is going to quickly fade away if Hamilton continues like this, that's if Mclaren don't hold him back. I believe that Hamilton will be Ferraris Achilles heel in the near future and if he continues this way I see great things happening for him, so can Hamilton be the next Schumacher? Or is it still to early to tell, think back when Schumacher started his career and see if there are any similarities.

    No offense intended...but who cares!

Lewis Hamilton is the next Lewis Hamilton!

Nico Rosberg is the next Nico Rosberg!

    etc.

    Please...enough with the Lewis Hamiltonizing!

No...I think he may be the next Senna. Let's hope he is able to have the carreer that Senna could have had...had that sad, sad day not happened.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

I'm very interested to see how he develops, as there has never been a driver groomed for F1 like Hamilton.

I suspect he will do well. Maybe as well as Schumi...talk to me in 16 years to find out. He may do as well as Senna did...

But folks (B-Mak aside), he's never going to be the next Schumi, Senna or anyone!

I hope he's not the next MS. I'd rather he won races by being the better driver instead of running everyone off the road. And battling with a competitive team mate instead of taking the pathetic MS approach of contractually stopping the team from hiring someone who may be quicker in an equivalent car.

look i think he is great, and i really like him.i was a BIG schuie fan but somehow i dont think he will be a schuie, the fact is that he does have a really good car and a really good team backing him, what about the rest of the drivers that are good drivers but have dont have the car that he does.

what about if he was driving for a team like spyker would he have come 3rd on his debut or 2nd in his 2nd gp or would have got a fastest lap???

The most impressive part about his debut-he's managing (so far) to keep him feet planted on the ground.

I didn't realize he was 22 and Alonso is 25!

It's not a reality. He's not of the paying class of drivers.

Maybe, but after two races I think it's a little too soon to tell. He's in one of the top cars on the grid and he's just started. Personally I'd like to wait probably until the end of the season to start speculating how his entire career will pan out.

Its not fair to compare anyone to Schumacher, to Michael Jordan, to Wayne Gretzky, etc etc. If he is that great he will make his own name for himself. To be a Michael Schumacher you have to dominate everyone including your team mate and win constantly. With the amount of top teams there are today, if it is hard to win the amount of races MS did or even come close.

    Very well put.

He seems like a nice kid, and so far, repeat so far, an excellent driver. The only thing that will keep him back is being Alonso's teammate. Nevertheless, he does not drive for Ferrari, he will likely never drive for Ferrari. He will not surpass Schumacher's records.

I don't think anyone will ever surpass MS's records, that situation he placed himself in and what he did won't happen again, in our lifetime.

I don't think Michael's records are unbeatable. I think Fernando has a shot at them, he's only 25 and has two titles to his name. If Fernando stays motivated, he can be in F1 for another 10-12 years if he wants. During that time he can move to the most competitive teams, you never know, he could end up replacing Massa at Ferrari.

No way to tell yet. He's only been in two races and he has been stellar but came in behind Alonso both times. it's only a matter of time before it gets closer between the two but Fernanado will not make it easy for him.

On another note has anyone else noticed that Ant Davidson has been getting spanked by Sato at Super Aguri? What's up with that? lol

Alonso at Ferrari, the thought of that is almost sickening to me, I would gladly take any F1 driver over him.
