My Rolex watch is past due needing a full major service - belts, tensioners, the works. Anyone know a good shop to take it to?

    Thanks

How are you James? You still have my seat over in the corner of your shop?

I have some bad news for you......
...I bought a 5-speed 400i and guess who gets to work on it?

All is well with the GT4.

I know a guy with a tiny little home lift and an awesome set of tools. No warranty of course, but who needs that?

You could always buy used replacement parts from Ebay & try to fix it yourself. It can't be that hard, it's just a watch right?

    Jamer,
Richard Eismann is an honest, longtime jeweler at Northpark Mall near Neiman's. They do some work there, but mine got salt water in it due to a crack in the crystal, and needed a factory overhaul. It was reasonable, and got it back in 3 weeks.

I took mine to the Jewlers in Grapevine they are just off the 26 exit of 114 on the corner of the mall where Target is. They all send them to the central location to be done takes about 2 weeks

I am good, the seat is still here - want it back? The 400i is good news. No surprise about the GT4!

Northpark is close, I will give them a try. Thanks.
    What do I win?

Never trust a guy with a home lift and a set of tools.

Major service. Hmmmm. Shade Tree or Norwoods?

Ohhhh. Sorry. I'm sure there's a Shade Tree or Norwoods for watches SOMEWHERE in the Dallas vicinity.

Rob C just summed it up, the place just North of AA Arena is the actual Rolex place. You can walk in the door and hand it to them, by brother did.

Please keep in mind that Rolex is no ordinary watch. It should only be worked by trained technicians that are familiar with brand. Keep all of your receipts in case you ever want to sell the watch.

    This is fun! :)

I read on Rolexchat.com that the dealers don't give very good service, are really expensive, and only want to work on the latest models. My watch is 25 years old so I was under the impression that I needed to find a GOOD independent that loves what he does and will check everything over and fix stuff that I don't even know needs fixing. I hear there is a guy like that for Ferraris around Love Field airport but they don't do work on anything Swiss. But if you guys say the dealer is the way to go that is what I will do.

    Thanks,
    Clueless

I can't believe people would even buy a Rolex. A Timex keeps better time, is cheaper to maintain, is more reliable, and parts are readily available. Just an example of peoples ego being reflected in the watch they wear.

It's all compensation you know. Is it really a surprise that Rolex owners are usually older guys?

You save money all your life to buy the watch of you have always wanted and then somebody flames you on the internet. Go spew your filth on Timexpower.com and use your real name - AlanTimex.

See? Classic example of the shortcomings of the Rolex owner! Gets all defensive just because somebody proves to him that a Rolex is all about ego. I'll put my Timex up against your precious Rolex anytime, anywhere. Name the place and time. If your Rolex can KEEP time!

Oh come on, you shouldn't make abritrary statements about people like that. Take a deep breath and relax a bit.

If style had nothing to do with life all of our cars would be yugos painted white and we'd all live in the same model house.

We'd all be a LOT more impressed by the e-posturing if you had earned your Timex. We all know AllenTimex needs a suger-mama to pay for his timepieces. I'd rather have a crappy old unserviced Rolex and my pride, than a bling Timex and THOSE memories.

interesting quote in an exotic car forum, so let me do some replacing of some of the words just to make a point...

I can't believe people would even buy a FERRARI. A Z06 is quicker, is cheaper to maintain, is more reliable, and parts are readily available. Just an example of peoples ego being reflected in the CAR they DRIVE

and yes, my Ferrari feeds my ego and i get more obnoxious each day i own it :)

    To the real AlanTimex,

How many mountains have Timex's climbed - I don't believe Sir. Edmund Hillary was wearing a Timex when he summited Mt. Everest. Why would I want to degrade the Rolex marque to compete with a p.o.s. Timex. Go climb back under the rock (TimexPower.com) that you came from + whatever Tillman said.

    BTW- how's the 328?
