Does my 355 have an alarm

I have a 1995 with 2 regular keys and a third that has a button and LED light on it. I haven't played with it for fear of locking out the ignition, or some such. So, I assume I have an alarm, but really, I'm in the same boat as yourself.

 

As far as I know the 95(2.7) did not have anti-theft....96 on(5.2) did.

 

My '99 does have anti-theft (ignition kill) feature but what I like to know is does siren/alarm go off if triggered? Also, I do get blinkings of the turn signal lights at corners when arm and disarm the alarm with remote but should I also hear chirpings too? or not??

 

There is a siren that should trigger.......not sure about a chirp on lock/unlock for 99...never heard it on 96 or 97.

I've heard chirps from another 355 when lock/unlock but I'm not sure if it's an after market alarm and year of that car was also unknown.

 

My 97 Spider came with factory key fob, chirp alarm and locking system.

That states "Owners Manual".

Maybe these folks aren't "owners"!

Should they be "alarmed"?

 

Too bad there's no anti-theft on the owners manuals...I wonder how many cars are actually delivered with one? Those are much easier to read than faint pdf's...

my action = Me searching pages forward and back for 5 minutes. Hmm, on the Italian side, the diagram is labeled A, but all other languages are labeled B. Guess this must be the right picture. Doesn't make much sense, but we'll try it....

 

I've got the same key, with the button that lights up the LED. I'm pretty sure mine does not have an alarm and same deal for yours. No fobs came with mine either.

 

Better than 3rd hand information from someone who has never read the book either. I have worked on these cars 30 years and am shocked every day by the information passed off as fact here.

 

Somehow I was fortunate enough to get two owners manuals with my 355, one in mint condition and the other looking and smelling like it was used to wash a dog.
