    The car looks like CRAP!!!:)

Actually it looks very nice but I have one question, why is the rocker black behind the rf wheel?

Any other pics you can share? I would post some of mine but im sure everyone is sick of it on the buyers thread, lol.

that is race tape i put on w/ each drive. rock chips would drive me nuts so i try to protect the target areas.

i have 3m clear tape done on some areas of the car but the rocker texture does not allow for a proper clear tape application. the black race tape looks a bit ugly but when i take it off i have peace of mind that dirty roads are not hurting my paint. thanks for asking paul.

Which confirms my theory....rockers are supposed to be flat black

Wow, what a beautiful car also!!! That is the classic Ferrari red with tan interior that has defined the marque for years. I guess it helps that red is my favorite color.
Where do you get racing tape? That sounds like a good idea to put on mine since the rockers are black anyway. Also, where did you put the 3M clear tape on your car? I may do the same since the the rock chips will show up more on the black paint? Also, I noticed that you have North Carolina plates.

Definitely great pics. Although I'm still waiting for someone to post some 'really ugly' Boxer pics...

I like the tape idea too - especially since my rockers are black.

Great photos and your car is the "exact spitting image" of mine- all red, no DOT side lights or bumpers, tan interior and black dash. (except you have fender shields)

    Very nice indeed!!!

www.bsrproducts.com they are a race supply company in charlotte, nc serving nascar and others. they have race tape in every color you can imagine.

jessie, the nc plates are on the car as that is where my boxer among others resides. i bought a house there two years ago in the lake norman area and i have a very nice set up there as well as brother that is a local policeman also.

get out of jail ticket as well as all the radar top speed runs w/o fear of a ticket!!

i spend most of my time in san diego so the 512 may get here this summer at which time it will go to gary bobileif for an engine out service to fix the oil leak that was overlooked during my last service.

my car when in san diego will remain nc licensed as it is full euro spec w/o ca bar sticker and thus would not pass emissions.

btw, the race tape works well and will hold fast w/o ripping off your paint...just remove at an angle.

i have 3 m clear tape on the inner wheel arch lips, the small area in front of the front door down low, the rear fender flare, the nose area up to the head light buckets, and front bumper area.

it is virtually non-detectable and makes me feel safe in driving. i have paint w/o blems and am soooooo crazy about keeping it nice.

Thanks for sharing some picture of your injected Boxer. Very nice to see in Euro spec form. No ugly bumpers to mar that classic beauty. It's no wonder; people complain about modern Ferrari designs...

Oh, I see. Thanks for clearing that up. I see what you mean about the emissions issue here in Ca. Mine has the BAR sticker so Gary tunes it to pass smog then tunes it to run correctly. The race tape sounds like a good idea along with the clear tape. Let me know when you bring your car to Gary's and if it is on a weekend, maybe I can drive mine down for you to check it out and take a spin since mine is carbed and your is injected.

Let me guess, you park so far away you take a cab to the restaurant? Takes one to know one I guess. A support group in the making?

Hope to see interior pics at some point. Oh Lordy, don't tell me you have sanitary sleeves over the 'sensitive' areas too!?

Truly a fantastic car. Yes, I can see why red is 'the' color for Ferrari. (Black is a bit of a pain to keep clean, which I knew going in.) It looks just incredible, Peter.

Last comment - if they have racer's tape in every color, why not choose red?

steve and michael...you know i appreciate your comments and of course michael, you have a standing invite to drive boxer or 930.

ahudson, black tape chosen as it was better than the blue i have for my blue 930. i have for years raced motorcycles that have been black...race tape is a staple tool in any motorcycle road racers tool kit and i have a several rolls in the garage. remarkable how well crash damage can be repaired w/ a few pcs. of tape!!!

and jp...jeff, thank you for your nice comments and help over the years. you cannot own these cars w/o a support group like this. jeff has helped me along the way.

i also should mention the late JRV. When i blew my diff out that fateful thanksgiving day eve a few years back...i discovered f-chat and i'll be damned if JRV did not diagnose and recommend remedies for my breakdown that same evening. JRV is missed and needs mention. He was a true boxer friend!!

    thank you JR.

I'll echo your comments Peter about JRV, its rare to find a Ferrari mechanic as knowledgeable and enthusiastic about our Boxers as JR was and as helpful. JRV actually steered me to a Boxer after I mentioned my test drive in a TR on his site and fueled my desire to own one again, I purchased my BB soon after.

Should we start a new thread to post our boxers on? Even this thread would be fine to use, I would love to see as many of the owners boxers I can. We could even make it a sticky so it doesnt get lost and we can add to it over time. Just think, 70+ boxers!
