Repair costs? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1993-Ferrari-512TR-Crashed_W0QQitemZ250104047705QQihZ015QQcategoryZ18180QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
The VIN isn't listed to determine original market desigantion (specification) but it is a LHD car with a MPH speedo not a Kmh. Mileage shown in picture looks like 22,xxx MILES (I assume) but the listing says "Mileage 76,xxx" but doesn't specify miles or kilometers.
I'm pretty sure that car was offered for sale by either specialized italian recycling or the guys from ferrari parts exchange......many, many months ago.
What a scam........ I wrote to the guy on eBay and asked him about the car. Here's his answer by email tonight: "Hello, thank you for your interest in my car. I am currently in Paris, France. The car is now in Paris and as you can see in the pictures it is damaged. The last price is Pounds 2500. - the car comes as you can see in the picture, I am not selling it in parts. About delivery I have already contracted a shipping company and the car is in their custody with all the papers and documents needed. I will support all the fees required by the shipping company. Please let me know if you're interested. I dide`nt make any test to see what major damage has. The vehicle is repairable, of course if you have some connections to ferrari it would be more easy and cheap. I have the service history for the car an v5. My cell phone number: 0044 703 182 1140" Even to list a UK cell phone number is interesting. Anyone in Uk want to ring it and see what's what?
Last night I wrote to this guy Lyle, who is in CA after following the link above to his wrecking yard. Here's his reply: Rob: We bought this car a few months ago from a man in the San Francisco area. He was parked along side the road when a SUV clipped the left hand quarter panel. He sold it directly to us after buying it back from the insurance company. Just let us know what you need and we will see what we can help you with. Regards, Lyle So make up your own minds, but I reckon the car is most likely to be in LA and the other guys is doing an illegal scam for sure.
It won't be long before it's pulled off E-Bay. What people forget, is that the Ferrari community is pretty small.
Geez!!! What took them so long to take it down? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1993-Ferrari-512TR-Crashed_W0QQitemZ250104047705QQihZ015QQcategoryZ18180QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
