    I have a story to tell......and a recommendation.

First off, let me start off stating I am a Very skeptical guy, old school, don't like change, yada yada.

As some of you know, I have been suffering from back pain for 10+ years now. Off and on. Always hurting, sometimes more, sometimes less.
But always have back pain. I also suffer from Sciatica.
I have been to "the best" doctors, and so on. There answer is always, exercise and stretching. Then they hand out pills.

Lately, (about 2 months now) I have been having the worst back pain I have had in about 10 years. Extremely uncomfortable, barely getting out of bed, can't bend down to pick up anything, miserable and grumpy. Have extreme trouble working on my watch bench for any length of time exceeding 15min.

I was with a cousin of mine a few weeks back, and he mentioned how miserable and in pain I was. Not talking, not smiling, etc...I usually do both quite a bit. He said he just had his major back pain taken away....I reply with "whatever."

After a few hours he convinced me to make an appointment.

The appointment day arrives (2 weeks after we talked)

I sit down with this D.O. ( http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-do-doctor-of-osteopathic-medicine.htm )who wants a quick story about by back problems, I oblige.

He takes me to the room asks me to stand straight, he puts his hands on my shoulders for about one minute. Says OK, now lay on the table, which he had to assist me, I was having trouble laying down, especially on a hard surface like those tables.

He then proceeds to just LIGHTLY put his one hand on my lower back, the other on my upper back.
He keeps them there for approximately 5 minutes. At this point I am really saying to myself “what a bunch of BS this is.”

He moves the positions of his hands approximately every 5-10 minutes.

There is never any “pressure” being applied, no deep tissue massage.

After an hour and a half, he asks me to lay on my side for a minute or two.

Then he asks me to site up……WTF? Was my reply. I then apologized for my rudeness, but I wasn’t trying to be rude. I was in shock that I had NEAR ZERO pain! Amazing.

He says it takes 3 days to really see how much the procedure helped. He also said in 24 hours I would be VERY sore?!? I ask him “sore from what?” His rely….”the procedure.”

I again state to him, that I am still skeptical about this whole thing….He asks me to call him in 3 days…

Well, it didn’t take 3 days. That night, and the following 3 nights, I had the best night sleep in the last 5+ years that I can remember.

It is now Sunday (procedure was on this past Wednesday), guys……I have not been pain free from my back in well over 10 years! I always had some back pain, some days minor, most days a lot worse than “minor.”

Every morning I would wake up Hurting, stiff, just not feeling good.

I am here to tell my story about a procedure I never knew about, when I found out about it, didn’t believe it (kinda still don’t), made the D.O. ( http://www.mommd.com/whatisdo.shtml )aware that I was going to be he most skeptical client, he replies, “that’s great, It is good to skeptical.”

Well, I am sitting here without any back pain and it has been 5 days. I am still waiting for that pinched nerve in my back and my Sciatica to return. So far, nothing! And I feel great.

Do yourself a favor, if you suffer from back pain, Try a D.O. in your area. Trust me, if you are having nerve pains, or sciatica, go see one of these people. You wont regret it…

    I sure don’t!

For the record, if you are in Southern California, this D.O’s name is Dr. Sean Tsai in Pasadena California.

Thank you for your time in reading my success story!

    Congrats.........

I'm probably just as skeptical as you when it comes to things like this, but I'm glad it seemed to work.

Keep us posted on how you do.......

Great share and very glad for you success.

I would be currious to know what method he used, sounds much more comfortable than the 'intense' New Zealand Maori treatment I experienced a while back. Oh it helped tremendously, I just feel the initial treatment goes off the scale in comfort level.

    Thanks!

I don't know what the method is called, but there is ZERO pressure at any time of the treatment.

Why is it so unbelievable? What is back there is tissue, muscle, nerves, blood, and bone. Likely using pressure points, your doc is able to help your body restore its own balance by relaxing the muscles and stimulating blood flow to ease the swelling and the pain caused from the problem with your disc and nerves.

The only thing that prevents bone from pinching on nerves is your muscles and posture. If you're condition is serious and/or your muscles are weak, your back is frequently in spasms. Stretching helps strengthen muscles, coupled with correct posture, are the two most cost effective, longest lasting, and most available things you can do for yourself to ease your pain. Is it really a mystery why they have been drilling it into you? Self rehabilitation and change of habits will help more days become minor discomfort days.

I'm 30 and I have back pain. I sit in an office chair 12+ hours a day and stare at computer screens. My right hip is 1-2 degrees out of whack, my posture was poor, my exercise minimal, stretching was practically unheard of.

Your key to better health begins when your alarm goes off in the morning before you do anything while your body is at its most relaxed. The best doctor will show you that the second best is right in the mirror.

What makes it so unbelievable is the fact that how someone can stimulate blood flow, or whatever he did, with nearly Zero pressure.
He was barely touching my back.
I still find it strange it strange.

:Update: Woke up today without pain again.....
    Slept great again!

I would really like to give this a try sometime down road when my back pain really starts.

I fractured my back when I was around 10 and I'm sure it will cause me big trouble as I age.

A Chiropractor can also help you align yourself and stand straight, sit striaght, show you where your weight is in reference to your spine. Just by shifting your weight, you can relieve a lot of back, neck and shoulder, joint, leg and feet problems.

There seems to be a lot of these" tricks" out there, when in fact people have been getting help from these simple actions for many many years.

I guess since it doesn't take long and doesn't require medication, no big companies push for these treatments.

    Congratulations!

Best thing any of you men can do for your back is keep your wallet in your front pocket.

Simply put, when you sit on a wallet, and sit upright, you're lopsided. That, in turn, makes your spine's alignment decidely unstraight.
