That makes the fifth car the #3 C4R of Fitch and Price and the fourth car the #62 of Ascari/Villoresi (at least I got the Ferrari drivers correct - by a fluke!)

Sorry, its Simon-Vincent in the forth car, probably its Ascari/Villoresi in the sixth car. The Third car is also a drop-nose XK120 C as the second car. Fifth car is Fitch.
Not bad Guys. The 2243 post it was correct with "Dreyfus / Helde (340 America) Le Mans 1952". Have you noticed the air vent. on the rear mud gards.I haven't noticed on other bodies

The ACO lists the drivers of the #3 C4R as being John Fitch and George Violat? I think George Rice is correct though.

    German GP - Nurburgring '57.

Hawthorn, Collins, Fangio, Behra, Moss, Musso.

Fangio's greatest ever race in the 250F Maserati when he hunted down Hawthorn and Collins in the Ferrari 801's after a disastrous pitstop and won.

I know some of the drivers (but not all -in fact I am not sure all of those that I didn't get actually raced in the '57 German GP)
Reading down left to right each line.

    Collins, Musso, Scarlatti?
Marsh, Hawthorn, de Portago (did not race -was killed earlier that year!)
    ?, Behra, Schell
    Lewis-Evans, ?, ?.

(2nd time I've posted this answer - the 1st one disappeared into hyperspace somewhere)

(de Portago was already deceased by the time of the '57 German GP - having been killed in April '57)

I think the magazine article must have some of it's facts wrong.

You must have me excused as my knowledge is not deep enough to judge whether the info is valid or not.
The head line of the article is "Schwanen Gesang" Swan song
Here is the picture, with the text that goes with the pictures from 1957, and the text alone, just securing.

I was correct (and incorrect in a couple of my names)

I though Castellotti was Scarlotti , and named Von Trips as Marsh.

I was partly confused though because Castellotti, Von Trips, Flockhart, Bueb and Menditeguy did not race at the '57 German GP.

Thanks, then the text is not correct by stating that the front in post #2256 stating Castellotti and Collins. Its Hawtorne and Collins as you have stated

Please dont take this the wrong way, but i think the initial idea behind this thread is beginning to get lost. I enjoy seeing the pictures you post of the magazine and book articles, but it is going off at a tangent slightly. There are so many thousands of articles in books etc, and it could end up a lot to sift through to find peoples actual photos.
Maybe still post them when a certain topic/person in question pops up, rather than random where, when and who's.
Please dont think i am moaning, just trying to keep the thread organised and topical.

I have noticed that there previous has been posted pictures of other cars than Ferrari, without problems. I have no intention to post pictures without Ferrari, and as stated it pleases me to se all the knowledge people
