They just released the identity: the shooter was a chinese national here on a stundent visa. My bet is that police were told the shooter was Asian, and that kid got tackled because he fit the description.

They have not released his name yet. I'd be careful about throwing names around until it's officiallly announced, in case you are going on a hunch and that hunch is wrong.

If it's not the guy, it certainly seems like it. Asian, guns all around, and looks like he has girl problems.. I looked him up on Facebook and got the other info.
Is he really dead or what? He must be a gun collector. CNN says the gunman is dead but he looks alive. Numbers has gone up to 33 including the gunman based on CNN.
That Wayne CHiang fella looks plausible (looks like hes familiar with firearms and has that lovelorn mentality). Can I ask how you arrived at his livejournal site? It looks like he had accesss to much more than a 9mm and a 22 pistol.

Wow, just wow. I had no idea this was going on today until 20 minutes ago. I've gotten to the point were I don't listen to the radio anymore, just the ipod. I even stayed away from TV for most of the day. This is just too creepy to watch.
I just hate the media in the way the present this story. Showing the graphic pictures, the cell phone camera video recording the shots.

Well we can all say that again. I saw his facebook photo album, on Facebook all photo albums are defaulted to public unless you change the settings which I find really stupid but hey sometimes you find pictures of hot chicks. Can someone explain why anyone needs 10+ of the same rifle ??
Looking at his arsenal I doubt he'd only bring two 9mm's. There can only be one Asian guy who goes to VT who is into guns, right?

Thats wrong and may be very offensive to some, especially considering he posted this on his site: THE PRESS REPORT ON CNN ALSO SAID THAT THEY ARE HAVING TROUBLE IDENTIFYING THE SHOOTER BECAUSE HE SHOT HIMSELF IN THE HEAD AND IT WAS RATHER....DISFIGURED
