    Boxer would look the same. They weren't designed with accidents in mind, just uncomfortable speed.

    From what I heard, the driver was banged up. In addition, the damage (from what I heard) was due to the emergency services, attempting to get to the passengers as fast as possible.

    Clearly. Look at the deformation. What force vectors would produce such a mess? Almost looks like a grenade went off inside the car.

    I second that emotion!

    It is amazing how far cars have come in terms of safety, especially sports cars. Not many crumple zones in a Countach or BB...at least, though, these are safer than, say, my Triumph TR3. (Nothing like driving a car with cutaway doors where your head is at the level of most SUV bumpers. To make it worse, Pete Snell (of Snell helmet ratings) was killed in a sidescreen TR!!!)

    I looked at a Countach recently and the frame looks much smaller and less robust than a Boxer, especially up front. I think a Boxer would hold up a little better than this.
