Wow, not cool............ I thought Will was talking about not forgeting his stuggle to get where he is in one episode. Forgot already?
Ive only seen the show a handful of times, but one of the things I remember was him tottally destroying some customers S class mercedes drove it something like 20 miles on a flat tire, his quote was something like "i was so close i decided to drive it" the wheel, rotor, and everything was practically molten lava. I wonder did he even tell the customer or did he half fix it behind their back. if it was my car I'd want all new brake fluid, new wheel, tire obviously, new rotors, new calipers, new bearings, new pads, and anything else even remoltly overheaded would be getting replaced. what a jerk, one would think even if hes to lazy to fix a tire that maybe as a buisness owner he could send a flatbed for the car rather than destroy it. also I have seen first hand install work from them that had to be repaired (by someone else) before it ever worked right..... lets see: horrible work quality, check abuse of customer cars, check bad attitude, check rip off prices, check and why does he plaster that UA logo onto all his install work, maybe the customer dosent want to advertise for him for free.....
I notice there are a lot of posts ripping on the guy, and while I may not necessarily disagree there are two issues. 1.) This is based off of a reality TV show, take with a grain of salt. 2.) He's making a fortune off of it and has repeat clientelle.
The only person in the Hot Rod world that takes Boyd seriously is Boyd. It is all show for TV. If it wasn't for the TV revenue he would be long gone. All he does anyway is assemble a bunch of parts, thats hardly building anything. Takes all the talent and creativity of the UAW. Any real business that is really trying to get something serious done doesn't want a TV crew around, nothing will get done. A good litmus test for any of those guys is, if its a TV show it ain't the real deal.
haha, you guys are funny!!! Chip Foose and Overhaulin for the win!!!he's a little pricey but the work he does is unreal!! maybe it's just for TV but he seems like such a nice guy, seems like eveyone that works with him loves him.....some of the cars that come out on his show are works of art!! I'd take my business to that guy!! Unique whips(or whatever it's called) is just a high end version of "pimp my ride"......
