This early in the season he probably enjoys that attention is deflected to his teammate. But let's check back in a month or two from now and see how little he cares.

About as much as Schumacher felt being second banana to Irvine in 1999

FA is human. it's pretty normal for him to feel a bit jealous or whatever of the current situation. i mean, he's a 2 time WDC, and all the attention is going to his rookie teammate.

How was MS second banana in '99? The broken leg?

Yes he was second banana in the last 2 races of the year, he had to help Irvine try and win the WDC.

Perhaps one of the greatest races Michael ran, that most people don't realize because he finished second was Malaysia 99. He stormed to Pole, gave Eddie the lead and drove Mika crazy and so Hakkinen finished 3rd. If anybody has that race, it is awesome to watch. Even Eddie said in the interview not only is MS the best Number 1 driver but he is also the best #2 driver.

    Gang,

Fred Alonzo, is a cool customer and as shrewd as they come. He handled MS 7x WDC, and Ferrari, at it's peak! I won't get into detail about his boss Flavio Briattore. Pretty awesome combination. Fred, will be there, to toss El Toro's ear, to the beautiful lady, at the end of the Bull-fight!

    Ciao...Paolo

that was perhaps the greatest ever Malaysian GP of all time. i remember, he drove the locals mad here! i wonder how Mika would have felt...lol..

Mika was so drenched on the podium. he could barely stand up after the race. but MS was cool as cucumber and smiling ear to ear. it was a fantastic race.

MS wasn't at his peak in 2005 or 2006. he made too many mistakes in those 2 years.

It's funny that even though he wasn't at his peak, he was still probably the best on the grid.

It was a team effort of mistakes.

Fantastic race, unfortunately I missed being in Malaysia by one week. MS came back stronger after his leg breaking accident.

very true. that short break recharged his batteries. i remember, was it Martin Brundle i think, commented that how the leg breaking incident actually contributed to MS 7 world titles.

he mentioned that the short break MS had, he was fully recharged and motivated like hell. he also said MS showed no signs of growing old, or being demotivated, like Damon Hill and Mika.

I seriously doubt that MS felt he was "second banana" to anyone, let alone Irvine, whether he supported him in the last two races or not.

In case you missed my point (which you obviously did) the point I was making is that MS felt no more inferior to Irvine (despite the circumstances) than Alonso does to Hamilton (despite the press hoopla).

The difference, no disrespect to Andreas here, is that you can't compare Hamilton to Irvine, Hamilton is on a different planet and over time will be a lot closer to Alonso than Irvine was ever to MS.

+1 Curious to see how the LH vs. FA matchup will be on circuits LH has some experience on.

I know that Schumacher did not feel inferior/second banana to Irvine in 1999, my good friend that disagrees with absolutely everything I say. Schumacher was of course the number 1 driver on that team, but the fact is Irvine was fighting for the driver's championship and Ferrari would have given MS the same order to move over to Irvine as Rubens got from Ferrari to move over for MS a few years later. Schumacher knew he couldn't win, but I'm sure he helped out Eddie to the best of his abilities to help him try and win the WDC, he is a nice guy like that.

Hamilton will be better than Alonso very soon and in some discipline already is, and will soon to be the best driver in F1 next to Kimi and Massa.

    Kidding about Massa :).
