I have narrowed it down to three cars to replace it.Used 430, used Gallardo or new Ford GT.I am leaning toward the Ford GT.

Take the ford, improve the handling characteristics. You won't get the refinement of the f-car but it'll be twice as fun. Best move, of course, is to drive all three. Gay-ardo is a pig at best.

Why are you selling the 360? What is it about it that's not doing it for you?
And, what are your current goals?

You really want a Fix Or Repair Daily?

    I think you like recalls!

430-classier and sounds a whole lot better.

What are we talking another $50K+ for the 430? I can see why you're leaning towards the others ;)

Well, if you really want opinions...

    1. F430
    2. late Gallardo
    3. FGT

I would also consider the 997 GT3 or RS, which would probably slot into #2 on the above list.

Good advice, there was a recall on the Ford GT.
I'd make sure all recalls were addressed before completing the purchase.

Gallardos are not known for their reliability, but they are flashy.

The F430 is an amazing car.

In all seriousness, you should at least consider an F40!

Of the choices you gave... F430.

    Hey Dan,

If the investments are doing that well, why don't you pick up a Carrera GT or a Murci? That would be a little more unique.

*Your car is looking pretty good nowadays. I spotted it at a little old garage in Burlingame. I thought, "Hmm, that license plate looks very familiar".

Dan, I had thought about the gt as well. My problem with the car was the god awful interior, esp. the seats which remind me of some 60's mod outfit Twiggy might have worn! I had asked a board member who had one and he said he sold it because the doors were such a hassle that even though he liked the car a lot, it was not worth the hassle.
My vote goes for the cgt since the board has obviously put a high number to your statement of a good year!!

I thought about the CGT, but I would like to keep it to 225K or so. For this money I could get a Ford GT and a new Z06 and a couple of family cars.

I still have a wife and three kids to pay for!!

Yes they shined her up pretty nice. I would recommend Topline to detail and sell car.

Sounds like you have some difficult choices but I'm sure you'll love the process. The 430 would be a great option and a significant step up from the 360, but I know you're a driver and these cars are still trading at high premiums so their depreciation will be highly sensitive to mileage. Of course, if your real assets continue to perform who cares!

I'm biased but the G has been terrific and you liked the power when we went out for a ride a while back. Because of its dimensions, the G has also been versatile (hasn't scraped when others have) around all the Bay Area roads we've explored and the AWD has been very reassuring on less than perfect conditions. 06 SEs look spectacular and are more exclusive than standard Gs. These and newer will have the shorter, more responsive gearing, a few more gadgets and 520hp.

I like the Ford GT too in white/blue but only live vicariously through Eric (Five) who can chime in with more. Have fun!!!

    Scott,

no offense but I wonder how you would quantify that? We've had a lot more 360 and 355 issues than gallardo issues from a couple of the folks here in the bay area... from what I understand, the gallardo are VERY reliable.
