I can count on one hand the good, engine mod fcars I have seen or heard of. So to answer the original query, no, Porsche cars are not pigs and imo they make a very good car. Not all models are fast, but they USED to all be fun to drive. I have no experience driving the 997 yet except the new 993 and it is a superb car. Sorry to hear the caymen is a dissappointment. I have heard that before also. Assuming I want a good handling and fun car it would break down like this: If I had to have only one car, it would be a Ferrari. If I had to have only one car AND drive it daily, it would be a Porsche. If I had to have only one car AND drive it to work AND haul things it would be a BMW!
