DFW Ferrari and Exotic Spotters

Saw a nice 328 last week near the Stoneliegh Hotel, a fuca(?) 575 on Preston @ Park thursday and a lovely drak blue 456 on Forest @ Preston on Friday.

 

First time in Dallas last week, I was playing in the Dallas Cup. Saw some great cars and really enjoyed the area. Not sure about the roads that the cars were on but in one week I saw: Bentley Continental-black, silver flying spur, 1 red and 1 silver 1 black and yellow dodge viper, numerous vettes and porsches and benzes, Orange Lamborghini Gallardo, numerous other Lamborghini's at Lamborghini Dallas, red Ferrari 355 parked at the Sonic yesterday on our way up to the airport. I really enjoyed the tourney and what Dallas had to offer us while there

 

Saturday night @ the Shops at Legacy: blue 430 Spider, black 360 M, red 348TB. A F355 would have completed the set!

White boxer in Benbrook about 5pm at Dirks and Winscott out by the lake. Very nice looking car.

Brown Bentley sports car in the Hobby Lobby parking lot, Preston/Beltline. Thought it was a Chrysler Crossfire until I saw the badges and Bentley license plate frame. Did'nt know Bentley made one!

 

Good day yesterday in stop and go evening rush hour northbound tollway traffic.

Spotted going southbound (each car separated by 5-10 minutes): red F430, red 348 with top down, silver carrera gt, black 60s era vette top down, silver prowler, silver DB9 volante with black top. It begs the question: where were all the Lamborghini and Bentley owners?

 

Yesterday about 6:15 pm on Inwood and Denton Dr. Euro blue 308. Needed a bath. LOL

 

Another toll road spotting yesterday, bright red Conti GT.

 

Black 599GTB heading down FM407 towards I-35.

Sounded nice.

Silver 550m, red 360m, red DB9, Bentley GTC, and Ford GT at Shops at Legacy tonight. Martini Park draws them out.

 

Concours-nice light blue Mercedes 190 SL roadster near Whiterock on Friday; the driver waved at me first. I then turned onto West Lawther and passed an equally-nice 69'-'70 Corvette roadster going opp direction...driver didn't notice my car...lobotomized, straight-ahead stare.

I've noticed that around here, drivers of mid-20th non-American makes tend to acknowledge each other in a friendly way. A thumbs-up is my usual gesture.

I'm not hallucinating here...vintage Vette drivers generally don't notice non-American classics, or acknowledge them if they do.

 

He noticed you... Don't worry about that. I've had the same thing happen to me. I think it's a matter of personal pride. I guess they think we're not "car guys".

I'm thinking of hitting up Kellers (NW Hwy/Abrams) one of these Sundays. Care to join?
