Be prepared to pay quite a lot more than you would have a year ago. Prices are rising worldwide. Good luck in your search.

I think you posted multiple threads on this, but Sport Auto in NC (www.sportauto.cc) has one listed at $99K.

Much below that you're probably looking at a project car.

As a BB owner, I hope the above info is accurate. However, after hearing all of this $100k+ stuff, I still see BBs regularly in Sports Car Market auction reports in the 70s. Maybe those are "project cars" although they don't look like it.

I do absolutely agree that for a platinum car you're looking at over $100k, but are drivers there yet? I'm not convinced.

Incidentally, I'm using "BB" for both BBs and BBis.

I chased a few of the cars I'd hoped were in the $75-85 price range and came away sorely disappointed. Cars in those ranges ALL needed the service or had issues I didn't have the stomach to solve.

So it seems to me that "ready to enjoy" cars have reached another plateau in pricing.

The formerly "$75k" carb car that's being redone by RPM will be in the $115k range following paint and leatherwork. Not sure how much else they're doing (and he can surely describe better than I) but after their 365BB brought $160 (?) or so at Palm Beach, perhaps that'll adjust to be more market correct.

The Red/Black injected car in New Jersey that regularly visited ebay, just nipping the high 70, low 80 mark each time (though in need of a service) disappeared, got serviced and re-offered by another dealer at $89k, now no longer listed so presumably sold.

My car had gotten two dealer offers just south of my eventual purchase price in low 90's. I think what threw some people off on the value of mine as listed on ebay is that he ENDED the auction as bids were climbing into the mid 70s figure, so that figure appeared. By the way, my car just arrived Friday at 11 am. Will follow up with a different thread later.

I tend to think that $100-110 is about right for a car that's turn-key but NOT show by any measure. SCM has more than hinted same.

Any one knows the BB for sale at Sport Auto for $99K. The car seems to be worth it, but there is no paperwork as proof of the major service that the seller claims was done to the car back in 10/04. Can any one recommend some one that can do a PPI in North Carolina on this car for me?

There's an 82 red on tan with no boxer trim up here asking $100K cdn, maybe a tad less when the money is on the table but it needs the service. All original, non-converted.

Sorry about my previous post on RPM's 365BB bringing "160k(?) or so at Palm Beach".

CORRECTION: It was $176k at Amelia Island, FL.

    http://www.rmauctions.com/CarDetails.cfm?SaleCode=AM07&CarID=r202

You can also search: Ferrari BB

You'll also see their other sale in 2006 for an 84BBi at $110k, Michigan sale.

    Hope this helps.

I'd like to know more about the car. I've had two, 49023 and 51509. Third time is the best.

The red and tan on Ferrariads.com "the virgin car" is $175K. I sounds like the type of car to take to shows only and not to enjoy on the road.

Well, my service was only $10k, and that included $2500 for rebuilding the carbs, along with the usual wear and tear items (in addition to the belt service, etc.). And in other places on this forum you'll hear people claim that's a rip off! (I don't agree, mind you).

So the service really shouldn't make much of a difference.

I do think people tend to expect that their $75-100k used car should really be a new car, and thus are looking for perfection in the cosmetic issues, but that's just my opinion.

I had a chance to talk to a few F-guys who tell me that a planed $8K to $10 service can quickly turn into a $20K+ as there are always more stuff found to repair or replace once you're in there.

Yes, that can happen. Not always, though.

It also depends on how much self-discipline you have. The old "while we're in there" syndrome strikes pretty easily!

FML is currently out of touch with reality in a Market so abstract...

I agree but it's a tough call. The FML is a mainstay, well-documented, and greatly authoriatitve, but he still has to "look over his shoulder" for...

Sales gathered from previous 3 months
To compile and compare to any in subsequent 3 months
Then assemble for publishing the next issue.

This is very easily a 6 month rearview mirror, and if no "numbers" come in, then he gets to interpolate or call it 'flat'. I can ALMOST assure you that FML will adjust fairly significantly next issue. Just a hunch.
