Is the procedure the same? Are the drain plugs the same size? Oil filter size? The filter is in a different position, much lower. Can it be reached from the top without removing the undertray? Thanks.

With most/all 430's still under warranty, owners are still getting oils changed at dealerships. :) When they all come out of warranty, then more owners will be changing their own oils. Well............thats what I reckon anyways. :):)

Filter is the same size, but *not* the same part. Do NOT use a 197654 oil filter.

Filter - 200595 (looks very similar to 360 filter and same dimensions -- but different specs)

    Case drain plug - 104280

    Case crush washer - 10261860

Gearbox housing drain plug - 10276140

Gearbox housing crush washer - 10265060

    Gearbox housing gasket thing-a-ma-bob - 207541

    Mesh filter - 122429

    O-ring above mesh filter - 190183

This might be of some assistance:

    Daniel,
Thanks for the great write-up and for posting the service manual pics. That helps. Does the 360 have the same setup with the mesh screen and O-ring on the gearbox housing?

Are the hex-sockets I used for my 360 the same size as on the 430? Also, same size filter wrench, which I already have?

Is the oil cartridge reachable from the top without removing the undertray?

    Thanks again!

What oil do you guys use? Is 0w-40 OK? I've been keeping my eyes open for 5w-40 but haven't found it. Thanks.

    Tech update:

At the request of Ferrari, F430 oil filter 200595 has been pulled from inventory. Correct filter for 430 is now 234742, which is about half the height of the old one, but the same cap wrench (OFT-02) will work on it.

Obviously, there was a problem with the old filters and Purflux & Ferrari are serious about torque specs. Additionally, rubber seal on the bottom of the filters has been changed from a rounded seal to a squared seal.
