What's Better To Buy On A Lambo Stick or E-gear

Hey Guys
I had an 04 Murci E-Gear for the weekend, this thing kicks a$$ it is a sick car
I am thinking of getting rid of my Ferrari for a Murci.
1. you guys have any suggestions regarding E-gear or stick ?
2. how is the maintenance on these cars, same as a Ferrari ?
are they reliable.

E-gear or stick is strictly personal preference; I prefer a stick (which is what I have in my Murcie).

Reliability is excellent as long as you take care of the cars, understanding there's nothing cheap about owning a Murcie, or any other exotic for that matter.

Yup, driving a Lambo is a whole different experience from an F-car; they draw attention like a magnet. People swarm my Murcie where ever I drive it, Lamborghini's are on a level that few cars can equal

E-gear vs stick is personal preference; I bought an e-gear originally because everything else on the car was what I wanted, it was available and I'm impulsive so I couldn't take the thought of waiting months to find another car like I wanted. But, after the purchase and doing a few track days, I wished I had got 6-speed. Those same few track events though convinced me that I wanted to do that regularly and wanted more performance so I bought a track-only 6-speed car that greatly outperforms my Gallardo. Now I'm happy to have my 6-speed where it matters in the track car and to have my e-gear where it doesn't because other than the typical snobbish bull**** from the 'driving purists', I get more enjoyment from my Lamborghini with it being e-gear. Maybe if I lived in the mountains somewhere and got to wind it out all the time I'd go with stick, but I have the track car now and I live in the city so only time I do a large amount of shifting in the Lambo is when there's a traffic jam, and that's no fun.

 

Stick is the way to go on a Lambo. The egear is not that great IMO. The 2007's are better than the 2004's, but still too jerky at times.

I would prefer a stick. But damn those e-gear downshifts sound SWEEEET...

 

I agree %100 about that IMO the 360's F1 is garbage and I find the e-gear to be smoother shifting and much more enjoyable to drive.

In regards to the 6-speed or e-gear question its really a matter of where you live and how often you are going to be driving the car, I would suggest borrowing a friends 6-speed if possible and seeing what you prefer.

I'd go with e-gear.

 

My friend told me on long trips with his murci his leg used to get cramped up with the clutch.

 

I have an E-gear in my G and I love it. Most of the cars that I've owned were manuals and I wanted something different. When its in sport mode it shifts hard but most of the time I dont drive it in sport.

 

I owned a 2006 e-gear Gallardo. At the time I purchased it, I was told the '06 egear was significantly better than '04 and a bit better than '05. Personally, I wouldn't buy an egear or F1 that's prior to '06. My egear was terrific; the downshifts were incredible. However, if I were to do it over, I'd go with the 6-speed. I never really felt "melded" with the egear car. It seemed too much like the car was driving me rather than vice-versa. But it's a very personal decision.

 

Driven the murcie e-gear.

I'll take the stick any day.

Every time a Lamborghini leaves the garage, it's an EVENT. Complete with cell phone paparazzis riding your blind spot.

 

I've owned both E-Gear and Stick Lambo's, and I prefer the stick. That said, E-Gear downshifts are sweet.

 

I'd go for a stick. Wait a sec, I just did. Very very fun car.

 

I heard that you had too much fun with that stick.

 

A lamborghini's job is to get attention, plan and simple.

 

Stick! No other way!

 

Two E-Gears here and I love them!!!

E-Gear! It can change gear quicker than it is humanly possible to do so with a stick! If thats not a reason that nothing is

the 6 speed Vs. E gear debate has been going on since they started making the E gears...I guess it comes down to personal choice, now on the resale side it seems that, like the Porsches, the 6 speed lamborghini's seem to sell faster and for abit more, we are still working that out.. Both are easy to drive and are reliable, I know because of a software issue on the first Gallardo's the E gear got a bad rep, but this issue has been worked on most Gallardo's. The Murcielago has not had these issues! Now as for comparing the Murcielago to Gallardo, once again it comes to choice, There is reason to own either one. But owning both I can say that they are really different cars, and both are great daily drivers!! I hope I have helped!

 

Hahaha. I think faster shifts are better, and the E-gear does shift faster, but if you like the feeling of the clutch and stick working together in holy matrimony, then get the stick.
