Well the price you offered is actually sounds to be a good deal but here is what needs to be answered. 1. How recent is the belt service? 2. Have all the open campaigns been addressed? 3. % F1 clutch left? Has it been updated or chaged? 4. TCU done and new software? 5. when were the brakes done? Tires? 6. Any funny noises? I found one when i was buying mine and it seemed to be leather scuffing with the door james. Ferrari of Sf corrected along side everything else. Also i love black in every other car i own. The black color on a 360 is to me of medium quality and shows a lot more than any other color. Good luck!
All belts been replaced including cam/timing belt @13K miles I am not sure about the clutch. Although the mechanic stated that clutch feels like only 1k miles used. what is an open campaign means? no funny noise so far. Thanks-
What year is the car? If it's a 1999 or 2000 model year, and the car was properly maintained, it should have been through two belt services by now. Also important to see if the maintenance book has annual stamps for fluid service. While you'll get varied opinions here about maintenance, I feel with Ferrari's you can't be too careful and should follow factory guidelines. It costs less to maintain the car properly than to fix it if you don't. Campaigns are Ferrari-speak for "recalls". Some of them can be done casually when the car is in for other service. If your car is 99/00 year, there's an important one that needs to be done called the Cam Variator Campaign. You should know if this was done before you buy the car. While an authorized Ferrari dealer will do this work free-of-charge, they will likely only do this "free" work as part of a belt-service as this gets them in the general area for this campaign. You should have an authorized Ferrari dealer run your car's number on "ferrari-net" to see if the work was done and to see if there are any other campaigns open (there were a number of them on the older 360s). Regarding the car's clutch... know that F1 tranny's wear faster than manual transmissions. If this car has 14K miles and hasn't had a clutch replaced, depending on how it was driven and how you drive it, you're likely going to need a clutch in the next year or two. This will cost you around $6K at a Ferrari dealer. My car has 12K miles and the clutch has 30% left (just had it in for service). First owner was older and babied the car, me... less so TCU replacement is not required, but many here like to have them updated... it's your call. Bottom line, use your head and don't ignore warning signs as these can be very expensive later. If you do go for it, post some pictures here. Everyone will love to see the new addition. Good luck, Frank
Hey Carlos... sounds like a good deal but like others said, have it checked. Let me know if you do get the car, I'll cruise down to SD.
