I like how that Idiot Howett, blew out Heidfeld and called RS a top notch driver. What a joke, F-Toyota, I hope they never win a race.
Rumor has it that they are trying to sign Heidfeld to take Ralf's place. Good, maybe Ralf can move over to Spyker or STR...or better yet, the DTM.
As is Ralf. Toyota has thus far refused to open discussions with Ralf's management for next season. Hmmm....
He'd probably rather drive for BMW for considerably less and have a competitive car than drive for Toyota.
I thought about that myself. Probably true, but some flirting with Toyota might just sweeten the Beemer deal. And in Kubica he has tough competition at BMW. Probably more so than with Trulli at Toyota.
Definitely. Don't forget about Vettel. BMW seems to really like this guy. I wouldn't surprised if he had a racing seat next year.
they think, just because they have all the resources, they can go out there diss everyone and be on top. lets talk logic here. Heidfeld's performance has been impressive so far this season.....wayyyyyy better than Ralfie's. so i think it's really disrespectful for that toyota guy to come out there and give some silly comments about Nick. personally, with this kinda attitude, i don't see them winning any races pretty soon, let alone smell the podium. it's just gonna be a matter of time before those toyota biggies in Japan gonna call it a day for their F1 campaign. most likely, they're gonna become nothing more than just an engine supplier.
You can reverse-snob Toyota for their budget, but they're doing F1 the old fashioned way: building their own team, rather than just buying someone else's. They build their own car, engine, transmission ... There's not many real manufacturers left in this "manufacturer's series", and they should be encouraged. But then, if Bernie turns F1 into just another spec series, then ... ... then F1 will be dead. Of course, even Ferrari just bought into the Lancia team, so there are durned few that have the cojones to do it the hard way. Toyota isn't doing so bad for a six year old team. Yes, you might think they'd get more return for the amount of money they spend, but you could say the same thing about the US government.
...except for that whole Ferrari IP thing. The clock is ticking on their works F1 team now that Tsutomu Tomita has been given the boot.
Did they really? I thought Ferrari already had established the F1 Scuderia and only when Lancia folded (like in 1954) they took over their bits and pieces. More like what Stoddart did when he bought up the remainders of Arrows for a nickel per dollar.
Toyota runs their F1 operation like GM runs its North American car business, keep throwing money at it in leiu of real talent and hard decisions.
