Rock 'n' Roll just died a little more in Dallas

My wife and daughter have switched to the "Jack" at 100.3 Mix of rock - current ? Mostly hooked on sports talk radio.

Looks like I will be able to get there a little early after all. I will probably be in the venue by 7:15 if everything goes as planned. Maybe easier to get together before the show starts? I didn't get your number so you'll have to call me.

 

I switch between KERA and KLIF on the ride to and from work. I'm nicely balanced now.

That was a great show huh? Enjoyed meeting up with you to catch up a little. I was able to get Chris Cornell to sign a Fender pic guard and also chatted it up with him for about a minute. He was very laid back and appreciative that I told him I took the gf to his restaurant in Paris and that we would love him to come play House of Blues in New Orleans some time. Good stuff.


I made the drive back last night but am wanting to come back very soon.

It was bound to happen - and don't forget the drive-home DJ "Magoo" and how he would laugh at all his own jokes. Probably the reason the old traffic girl left.

So, I roll it over to the bone this AM on the way to work, and what am I greeted with? A political discussion call-in group with a pair of guys who are just trying to talk way the hell too Texan.

Time to hunt some J.S.Bach cds.

 

I stopped listening to kzps when they went to the 10:1:10 format. That's 10 commericals for every one song by 10 different groups. My son and I referred to kzps as the commerical advertising station.

I think their new format is great and I've heard a couple of really hot R&R songs that I've never heard before -- and I've been listening to R&R music since the mid 60's. They have also been playing some Robert Zimmerman which suprised me. I'm not a C&W fan but they have also been playing some good country rock (oxymoron?).

I'll wait and see how long this lasts before Clear Channel screws it up.

 

jesus - how long is your commute? I used to do the Arlington to Dallas crawl; but I don't think it was as long as yours . . .
