As most know I just finished the WWW.JOYRIDERALLY.COM in my new LP640....here is what I came up with...

    Mine is a 6 speed..with CC brakes...

PLUS... Brakes are the best ever...the HP and increase power is out of this world as is the sound of the stock exhaust. The cockpit is MUCH quiter than the older ones as well as the ride is way smother and more controlled. I HAD no problem at all doing well over 200 MPH and had full control. Older Murcie, work a bit to get it to 200 and then not totaly confident. HAD not one issue at all with the car in its 2800 mile run. Side mirriors larger, better view, with glass engine bonnet better rear view, no glare as on the older black backs.....OH also the gas mileage was insane, I was SUPRISED at had good it was...I averaged about 100MPH most of the way, some less some, (well a lot more) at more...but all in all was averaging almost 17-18MPG while my 03 was closer to 14-15....was a very nice suprise.

NEGATIVE...Constant wind/wine noise at higher speeds from the new improved drivers side oil cooler vent, mostly at over 80MPH, real iratating. The seats are a bit wider AND longer than the eraly Murcie AS are the foot pedels placed slightly off....for long trips not comfortable, leg cramps occurred. The gas pedal tension is considerbly more than older ones, so takes constant down pressure from gas foot, can not just rest your foot on the gas. As stated before, instrument cluster is to busy now, to many hash marks, not easy to glance quick down for fast reading. Front end bumper design is lower, several scrapes EVEN with lift system. New NAV system good, BUT can not turn off screen OR dim down enough for nite drive....most off the time had to leave it off at nite, to bright even in nite mode..and of course the speakers are ****!! Mine is equiped with the corsa race tires, DONT get them, to sticky, picks EVREYTHING UP, also at lower speeds sounds like your going over turtles all the time due to their thread design. Stick with stock tires.

All in all, HANDS above great car, worth the extra money...

Can't wait to see it at Cannon Beach. I saw some pics of it from the Joyride Rally where you can kinda see the wheel lip is blue and the taillights are tinted. Do you have some better pics of the mods?

    Roy,

Saw in the other thread you stopped at Lambo of Houston. Did you make it to New Orleans? What about the rest of the rally? I walked around the usual haunts at lunch time and found only the yellow Hummer H2 parked at the Loew's hotel.

    Roy,

Well, I guess it is one of those things that makes me happy and sad at the same time...sad to hear a potential good thing fell apart, somewhat happy to hear it sounds like I didn't miss much in New Orleans.

You should come down for the French Quarter Classic (whenever the next one is)...a Ferrari love fest, Lambos allowed...

    Thanks for the pics.

Pics look great, now I will dim my light and spend some alone time with the rear pic of you going down the highway next to John:cool:

How was the drive across west Texas? That was the worst part of the drive for me when going to LA, I was in a dually in the dead of night with a trailer full of my buddies bikes. Maybe that was what made it so horrible:) There is absolutely nothing out there!!!

Roy, I wasn't driving the Lambo then. That ticket was in the convertible Mustang (which was governed at 110 or 115 mph). I was trying to be a good wingman for Brian and look where it got me. lol

I saw you driving alone last Friday in LA. Driving down Sepuleva around 2:30pm. Assuming you were the only blue LP640 in the run with those stickers on!

    Roy,

doyou notice that that air intake /oil cooler vent on the back (the retractabke one) shakes at high speeds?

I was out for a drive with a few F-car & L-car friends, and noticed that the intake would shudder/shake at speeds over 50 km/h.

wondering if this is a problem on all lp640's, or if my buddys just needs an adjustment

JOHN IS THE BEST WING MAN EVER!!!!!!!!!

He was nice enough to give me his keys to his new Merci so I could give this HOT chick a ride. We waited for him to catch up but the Mustang wasn't up to the job, and had no radar dector in it.
As the saying goes "never leave your wing man" bad things happen when you do.

Thanks my friend, looks like I owe you a big one. :)

    Roy,

It was nice to finally meet you down at the Pier at the launch of the rally. That LP640 is by far the best looking one I've ever seen! I'm glad you had a blast in it.
