    No, preferably NEVER machine discs on high performance cars, especially those that are underbraked anyway..

    every time you remove material from the disc, it exponentially reduces the ability to dissipate heat, and promotes cracking and warp....

    Scuff them up with some emery paper and wash with brake cleaner....

    And don't try to use them down to their minimum thickness just becasue that's what it says...

    got a feeling they did,I know Bob Jane had them then they went to Jeff Hughes.
    Even now nearly 30 years since I can remember the sound and the starter motor turning the bike over,one of em had a factoy works fairing.

    Dukes of that period early to mid 70s 750ss and the 900ss were no where near the MV,I remember my father riding the down at Ron Angels in Bridge rd Ricmond ,rubbish poor mans MV.He prefered his far lighter Norton 750 fastback.

    *sigh*

    just under 900cc twin in the ducati v just under 750cc 4 cyl. MV

    you're talking 512 v 365 here, rob.

    I hopped straight off my 860GTE onto the MV and i can assure you, without any doubt at all, that the ducati had more torque and better, more stable handling.

    it's not even a matter of opinion. read the articles of the times.

    was the MV handling fixable? with mags and other mods, apparently yes.

    never had a problem with electrics on any of the 7?? (i forget) ducatis i've owned.

    like i said...i hopped straight off one onto the other.

    me=knows
    you=hypothesising

    had no problems winning 37+ World Championships with Borrani wire's.
    MV 750s weight 529 ibs ,72hp at 9,200 rpm top speed 136mph. Ducati 860GT weight 518 ibs ,65hp at 7,000rpm and a top speed of ONLY 111mph,MV would still be in 4th gear.
