Should that day come people may wish to consult the document where the chassis #0846 is listed 5 times as is the person who's owned her since 2000 which the copyright holder of the document, in their sole discretion has continuously published for the last five years which is included in the 100+ pages of other information that is public record...

What a joke.....Where was the threat?

Why are you taking this thread off topic when the cyber ink from your complaint about the very same thing in that other thread hasn't even dried?

    The Linder Modifica LM

If you go back to post 18 in this thread I posted a link. In that link go to page six or seven. Look for David Castelhano "Bertocci" (sp?) he built the car...

David did begin the project but Roland finished/modified a lot of the work after
that using parts he bought from WWOC that were real F40 LM. All of this has been public record. It's kind of strange that JB missed it.

As for the one you did the article on what did you think of MS' SCM article on duplicate chassis #'s on Prototype F40 LM's?

Noah take that over to the 0864 thread it should not have been brought up here.
There is NO LM documentation as the car never was nor will it ever be a LM

Jim's car 0846 has it's own thread. He has done a masterful job of researching and documenting the provenance of his car, am I qualified to say if it is or not - nope but neither are you. If you choose not to believe him that is your problem not mine not his nor is it relevant to this thread.

I wonder when awhite is going to chime in.... We all know Roland won't. If he expects to get enough money to satisfy "Whatever" situation exists, you'd think now, more than ever, RL would be in here selling his ass off since there are enough morons out there who wanna believe him!

I missed that. I would never be surprised that could happen. The story of Enzo being driven around was confirmed at 3 levels (dealer with AAA++ access and then some, one of the high level managers at F-USA and the orig US owner who I will admit i didn't talk to first hand it went via an intermediary. If i was wrong I don't think so but I sure as hell didn't lie about it. As for the prototype it is no longer in the USA and given current things it can't come back...

Exactly, then why did we all need to see the "Proof" for the 19,000th time? Just too easy of an opportunity to pass?

BAH! Like you said, Who am I to say? :)

There is a huge spares package of original F 40 LM parts available from the same source that provided the parts to Roland. Should anyone want a hook up for them pm me.

This thread is about a car that has been misrepresented so frequently that some believe the lies because they have heard them so often. It is appropriate that we comment on it as it is currently for sale, being misrepresented again as an F40 LM which it clearly is not. It is a terrific modified Ferrari built from a wreck, not very different to many racing Ferraris of the 40's, 50's and 60's, but is it clearly not a real LM version in any way shape of form. I'm rooting for the seller to get the highest price he can, because it will affect the valuations of all F40's.
Re Noah bringing up Jim's car - classless and irrelevant, as usual. Oink oink indeed!

No I wasn't talking about your writing about Enzo being driven around in it, you accurately reported what you were told. I was referring to MS stating that Ferrari seems to have used the same chassis numbers on different cars on several occasions including the F40 prototypes. It was tangential to your article but I thought you'd find it interesting.

Well as you know better than anyone there were things done by ferrari over the years that they would look you in the eye and say NO when they actually knew the answer was YES. The dup serial numbers they were not the only ones to do that... I know of one Shelby Cobra that had 4 serial numbers... they kept changing the vin and painting it so the magazines wouldn't know they only had one working car... Ferrari having multiple chassis with same s/n not shocking but the trick is to get THEM to admit that.
I was approached by a Japanese journalist at Pebble Beach who had just been in the shops of Micco and he told me he saw the Twin I didn't really understand what he was saying until now

Maybe "someone" can put a favorable valuation on this car and write you anyway? I mean, after all, it is an LM! Ain't that worth stretching for?

All you gotta do is ask... ;)

    Post 67...

The sweetheart at the Federal Credit Union is gone, and the tall red head at Weels Fargo no longer believes me when I say:

"But WE'd look GOOD in this car....."

They kind of glazed over when I started tire kicking Boxers....no equity in a rapidly shifting commodity.....;)

    Bankers talk like that......

I really think of all the posts, this is the most accurate, and even then, I think the post is generous. To my knowledge, this car does not contain ANY true LM pieces. It is so far from being an LM that I am not sure the term "LM" replica is even accurate, I think "LM" inspired is more accurate. It is not an LM in any sense of the word....

To be fair, the value add is the history. Kind of infamous in a way. Plus it has the added cache' of being a recent show car on the Cavallino lawn which is pretty cool! :)
