No problem with headroom I can wear a helmet as well. I'm 6'1" P 4/5 feels more spacious than an Enzo.

    Hi,

I lost this thread in the last days, but I confirm all. I read the same EVO article scanned by carbonfiber.

Gordon Murray's point of view is exactly the same I have after seeing and photographer an Enzo...

    http://alanguer.altervista.org/htmleng/foto/GT/Enzo.html

    ...and the p4/5.

I must say that the Enzo in reality is agressive. The only other car which has its same badness and dramatic apparence is, in my opinion, the Lamborghini Countach. Both this cars are more agressive than beautiful.

At the opposite, living in Ferrara, I can see lots of cars made from 1930 to 1970 in occasion of the Mille Miglia...

    http://alanguer.altervista.org/htmleng/foto/eventi/MilleMiglia2006.html
    http://alanguer.altervista.org/htmleng/foto/eventi/MilleMiglia2005.html
    http://alanguer.altervista.org/htmleng/foto/eventi/MilleMiglia2004.html

...and specially that made in the '50s and '60s are really sexy. Their design reminds me the bodishape of a beautiful woman with all the curves in the right place.

Lastest Ferraris are surely gorgeous cars, but, for exemple, the new 599 lost apparently quite and elegant lines, inspired to the past, dressed by the 550/575, changing them with straight and agressive ones. The Enzo gives the same idea.

The p4/5 is really different: she isn't only a unique piece of art, she has classic lines projected to the future in perfect proportions. When I saw her at villa Erba, I was totally unable to see the other concept cars of the event.

In spite I had an entire afternoon to photograph her, I discovered that she was more beautiful, more the time passed, and some of my better photos was taken just before Jim received the price, in the forwarded afternoon, when sunlight stops to burn over cars bodywork. In that moment, the relaxing and golden light embraced the p4/5, and she was more beautiful and special that in the entire day I spent next to her. So I went up to the front stairs of Villa Erba, and started to photograph the concours star.

This is quite the same feeling I have every year seeing Milla Miglia cars at the start of the second stage in the early morning (6am).

I think that I'm quite unable to feel the same sensations with an Enzo. The reality is that I fall in love for the p4/5!

Sorry Jim, but maibe my girlfriend will be jealous! :-D

    Ciao!
    Alan

I love this site! Great, great updates on every major auto-event, and serves as one hell of an archive. Skanning through some of the show pictures, I cant help but to be wide-eyed at the 39' Bugatti 57C Cabriolet! Its rare you see much on this car. I hope it got its share of face time at the event! Oh yeah Jim, your cars looks good too.

Never been given a RL car, nor a ride in his LM, but I had the chance to meet him at the Greenwich Concours a few years ago. Very nice fellow. We spoke for quite some time, and he was very candid about his car collection and the pride he's got in his automobiles. What sticks out in my mind most of all was that he said something to the effect that he thought auto-design mirrored clothing design. Seemed like a true car guy!

I totally agree, that's the same things I feel!

I think we compare the Enzo to Tina Turner mixed with Hulk Kogan...
The P4/5 is more like Sharon Stone mixed with Halle Berry...

One of the most complete reportage of Villa d'Este (sorry, only in italian language...) is visible here:

    http://www.virtualcar.it/?cat=36

There I met Sergio, webmaster of the website, and I must say that is really an awesome person. We talked for about an hour about the p4/5 and mostly the historical cars.

Saw the P4/5 in an ad in Forza Magazine. Very nice pic, and completely surprised me. Most beautiful car I have seen in that mag yet :).

My guess is that car is a Bertone design. Not certain, but there are several cues that lead me to that conclusion.

It's the Diatto "ottovu" (means 8V) Zagato. A new highly personalizable supercar that celebrates the re-birdth of one of the historical italian car manifacturer. Diatto is just one of the first italian factory operative from the begin of 1900 until the IIWW, then disappeared.

In the photo you insert here the Diatto "ottovu" is with another historical Diatto about 100 years old.

The "ottovu" looks surely better live than in photo. After first photos circulated on the web I didn't like it, but live is surely better, low, wide, and beautiful.

It is Zagato. It is not however "based" on anything, but a design by Zagato apparently delivered on a chassis completely unique to it.

Though this has nothing to do with the P4/5.
