Yeah, looks like its been re-listed. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=141788 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300102316692&rd=1&rd=1 buy it now is $2k less.
And funky high-water boxer trim... Although, hiking your boxer's up? Maybe that's just the "new" look! Add a couple of flat tires, and it'll look gang'sta!
Since I'm repainting mine anyway, maybe I'll do the high-water boxer trim too... And instead of putting the little stripe above it, I'll paint a custom wrinkle-look that looks like an elastic waistband, and paint it with a happy-face logo, or maybe some print.. You know? Like; "Joe Boxer" repeating all the way 'round the car... Or maybe, "BCBG" or "DG" or "Bananna Republic"... Anyone got any other ideas? "got". Hmm... I think that's improper grammer... Then again.. Oh, Hey! How 'bout "Got Boxer?" <edit> Or maybe "Got Dstacy?"... or "Got Fuseblocks?"
Since you're going back to blue, I think nothing less than tan-dyed alligator skin seats with a Gucci headliner and door panels will do. Oh yeah, and a chinchilla pelt dash mat would be a wise investment to keep the alligator dash from shrinking back in the sun....
If we're nitpicking then... 1. Driver's side headlight needs adjusting to close at the right angle. 2. Gearshift is wrong (in many ways). 3. Bertone badges should be on the rear wing. 4. Series 1 car should have Dino badging. 5. Tide is in on the boxer paint job. None of these are big problems and other than that it looks in very good condition, and the price seems v attractive in £.
Now this; I DO want to do: And the dashmat ain't to shabby neither.... <edit> And... I've been toying (in my mind) with the idea of a little carbon-fibre trim here-and-there too... Like replacing the aluminum plates for the guages with a silver metalic carbon-fibre. Maybe adding a cup-holder to the center console.... I'd also like to replace that little and very bendable piece of plactic that holds the wiring in place with a carbon-fibre piece... Any other suggestions? How about aluminum pedals.... Prev. owner did it and I think it looks sharp! I'll add the dead pedal eventually. Image Unavailable, Please Login
back to the first post. If you read through the other posts listed you'll see I drove that car. Here it is in Houston last May. Go to the 5 min 30 sec. point in the video and there she is. http://www.hittv.com/keelsandwheels.html
Yeah, I was getting tired of the hammerhead. It was time for a new elasmobranch, so I went with a Tiger shark from a recent shoot in the Bahamas. I think that horsie cutout for the speaker is cool, but I wonder how much sound gets out!? I really want a cheap GT4 to play with. Unfortunately: 1. My wife will absolutely KILL me. 2. I have no more garage space. 3. I also want a glass GTB. 4. Then there's the 348 TS I need too. Hmmm. Birdman
A cheap Ferrari? Oh, thats the funniest thing I've ever heard! I'm pretty "tuned in" on GT4's. I'll let you know if one crosses my path.
No she won't - buy a GT4. 348s have corrosion protection, so you can park it outside. You already have a carbed GTB - forget about glass. Tell the wife that the Mondy is out and her shiny 348 is IN. Do all of the above, and you will have 1 extra space in the garage, and *2* new cars to play with! Don't underestimate the GT4 - it's the next Countach. (fingers crossed so hard it hurts!)
OK, let me rephrase that! I want to find a GT4 that has issues that allow me to haggle the price down low enough that i would be stupid not to buy it. But I want those issues to be issues I can deal with....meaning I don't want it to be rusted through! But I can handle a car that "needs love." And I will need to keep it at Verell's house. Birdman
Bird, its ALWAYS stupid to but an old european car....you KNOW that. Its a sickness. Some get effected early in life (like your truely) others only get the disease a lttle and build up antibodies that help them get over it. Tell your wife the same thing I do when ever I bring home a new toy. "Honey it isn't my fault. I'm a sick man. Instead of being mad you should pray for me. I need God's healing. I'm a junkie, please baby help me." If that doesn't work try my second tactic. "Baby you choose; girlfriends or cars. Either one is fine with me, go ahead pick one." The problem with tactic #2 is my wife is starting to think girlfriends. She figures they'll be a LOT cheaper.
I've been lurking here, while looking for one for a while. This post is my first. I've loved the Dino/GT4 since it came out when I was in grade school. I'm just at the point in where the two plotted curves of it's inaccessiblity and my appreciation are within sight of each other, thought I'm not positive that they intersect. I'd like to hope so, but I've missed three chances by as little as hours. I'm skeptical about this one on eBay. I can be pretty patient, but I'm serious about getting one. I can go on and on about what a genius I think Marcello Gandini of Bertone is... I've satisfied myself on a preparatory diet of 1974 X1/9s for 20 years. Not many people understand the distinctions I make between various Italian exotics, but I think the GT4 is a perfect example of how an exotic stays exotic. You obviously have GT4's in, around, and under your skin. By all means, if you see any worth considering let me know. thanks _ frank
So true!! Its a sickness. Some get effected early in life (like your truely) others only get the disease a lttle and build up antibodies that help them get over it. LMAO!!!
Frank - Fill out your profile so we can learn more about you! Where are you located? Depending on the answer, there may be GT4 owners in your area that can help you out in your search, show you their cars, etc. You sound just like I did about 2 years ago, minus the bits about the Fiats! Your GT4 is out there...it's just a matter of finding it, and at the right time, and in the right condition... Best of luck -
